    I don't drink to "alter my mental state" nor do I see the issue in such black and white terms.

    I'm from an Italian family. We've always had wine around, we made it ourselves. On top of that I grew up in one of the better wine belts of the country and went to school amidst a hub of microbreweries that crafted some fantasic local beers. A nice drink, to me, is about sharing a social situation. Far less important is "getting drunk," which I very rarely do. If you don't drink that's perfectly alright, but don't put on your armchair revolutionary hat and start claiming it's about brainwashing or some sort of social justice nonsense.

    ...that being said, you'll have to explain Strawberry Fribbles to me. I haven't had the pleasure.
