Re: Thursday exposes Victory / officially announces Island signing!

hahahahahahahaha, what a bunch of bullshit....
first of all, I need to say a big FUCK YOU to victory records and another bigger FUCK YOU to thursday. There is no doubt in my mind that what thursday says in this post is absolutely true, victory records and this asshole tony are both steaming piles of shit, but come on guys, the post makes it sound like moving to island / def jam was the only option thursday had - "The deal that we signed stated that any movement away from Victory had to be towards a major label" - what kind of dumbass would sign something like that if they had absolutely no intentions of moving to a major label in the first place, did they expect to be on victory records their entire career??? it makes me laugh how thursday has spun their whole sell-out announcement 180 degrees. if instead they had posted "yeah, well we've decided to move to island / def jam because some of their scouts came out to our shows last year and waved a big bag of cash in front of our noses, and well, to be honest, we really want that big bag of cash. catch ya later on MTV, love thurday." the reaction from their fans would be very different. instead they opted for "yeah, well we really wanted to be part of "hardcore tradition" (hahaha) and in order to do that we had to sign to victory records but they tricked us with this little phrase in the contact saying that if we left victory we'd have to go to a major label (hahaha) and then victory hurt our feelings and so we cried ourselves to sleep for a few nights and then decided that we needed to leave victory and island / def jam was the only place we could go" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. thursday makes it sound like they don't wanna go to a major but since they need to leave victory it's their only choice, so that's just what they'll hafta do.
so here's the bottom line: Thursday "sells out" and signs to Island / Def Jam and scapegoats Victory Records.
don't get me wrong, I am in no way a fan of victory or that cocksucker tony, but it seems funny to me that since thursday made victory take the blame for the move to a major everyone is sympathizing with thursday. thusday new exactly what they were getting into when they signed that contract, and now that they've played all of their cards right, they'll still be regarded by as "punk" (man, i hate that word) even though they "sold out" (man, i hate that phrase). Sure, they said that tony was only concerned with money - well victory records is his company and of course he will be concerned with money and sales and profit....do they think island / def jam think any differently??
whatever, FUCK THURSDAY.
p.s. i know i'm gonna get a ton of negative comments regarding my position on this issue, so go ahead, let the bashing begin!!!
