Is White River Junction, Vermont, where Dan grew up. The river is the Connecticut River. Splits NH and VT in two. White River is right on the border.

you idiots. The "river city" in their name comes from the town the band originated from , White River Jct. in Vermont. Dan is from Hartford, and Eric is from Sharon, both towns fairly close to White River. They don't rebel against rivers, they are just using a nick name for their hometown in their name. got it shitbirds!
