Dude. San Diego can eat my balls. At least PDX has 2nd Ave Records. I miss that place. Now I'm in Calgary...I can't get over how expensive cd's are up here. Unreal. By unreal, I mean "the internets is teh kewl!"

Where i live there are around 4 independent record stores to choose from, you're bound to find whatever you're looking for.
