    shit, wish i read the comments before i posted this. but i agree with Cos. once you start assigning some fucking worth to a place, it becomes commodified. CB's had it's time, but like i said. there will be plenty of other venues for underground music. as long as the music matters, there'll be places to fucking play it.

    what's being lost may be "just another venue", but it's "just another venue" in the city, that was always willing to put relatively unknown bands onstage with an almost guaranteed crowd. even if there are 1000 more places doing this, it's not enough. we can't afford to lose venues like cbgb's. not as "punx" but as people who appreciate music.

    the number of clubs, and even halls that allow shows has sharply and steadily decreased over the last 10 years. each one held memories, but most didn't seem all that important on their own, until they were gone.
