Jesse.....plenty.....Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag....just to name the popular ones......there were loads of intellectual 80's hardcore bands. As a mattter of fact, that's what attracted me to hardcore and punk in the first place.....not this macho tough guy shit. Understand what I mean? Any moron can yell about fighting and "pride" into a mic......but it takes skill to really make someone think or invoke a sense of irony or satire.
