    the alternative is to resist the whole system. No one can blame you for doing whats necessary to survive -- ie pay to eat -- but you can resist. There's no expectation of "perfection" because its not some personal accomplishment you are working toward -- its the emancipation of everyone who lives under the yolk of the corporate feudal system..

    i just find it funny that people consider this a defensible position. you can pick and choose what to point the finger at? fuck majors because they have a reputation of hurting artists, but converse is fine, they make awesome shoes that you like, even though they're manufactured in china, indonesia and vietnam - countries who exploit their workers much more than majors exploit their artists.

    again - that's not being jaded. that's called being informed. there's nothing wrong with believing in systems that don't exploit people. we should all fundamentally believe in that. but you have to see the inherent stupidity in pointing your finger at the music industry while you sit comfortably at home enjoying the affordable products of globalization and immigrant slave labor. it makes you look like an asshole.
