Fugazi played the Electric Factory? Dammit.
I'm happy that I've never once paid for a show there... I've been to about ten and always got the tickets as a gift, from my girlfriend's work connections, or snuck in as with the Bad Religion show.

I'm nowhere near Houston, but I can say that the venues I frequent here in Canada (between Winnipeg and Regina) have higher prices now than they did 11 years ago. It pretty much happens everywhere dude. It shouldn't come as a surprise anymore...

9 times out of 10, it is neither the venue nor the promoter that sets the ticket proce for shows (especially for bigger bands) it is the band and their booking agent.
And yes, in recent years bigger bands (anyone who can safely expect to draw 200 or more people wherever they go), have had higher ticket prices built into thier contracts.
