At the very least I'm going to miss the days when you could go see them and they would play almost all of Sink or Swim.

I know what you mean. It seems like this band is ours, you know? I know that's a dumb way of thinking of it, and they deserve every good thing that happens to them because they really do seem like genuine, honest, hardworking dudes, but it was like they were made for our scene and I don't like thinking about them becoming the soup of the week for someone who could give a rat's ass, like half the AM! fanbase now.

    why?

it's not like these dudes claim to be anarchists. i think that's the whole reason people got up in arms with AM - claiming to be one thing, acting another way. gaslight's a rock band and i think would do well in large venues. it would suck but, they do have that nice sound.

Hate to say it, but it's likely to happen.

The thing is, it won't matter. They are all nice dudes, and they make very accessible and genuine songs. They won't need to water down a New Wave to gain mass popularity. If they keep making sweet punk influenced rock tunes, I don't care what they do.

However, they could also go the Gogol Bordello/Flogging Molly route and stay on S1D while being incredibly popular, which would be preferable for the current fan base.
