Depends on what kind of politics you want to hear about... Anti-flag, Green Day, NoFX come to mind really fast. I should know more... I'm disappointed in myself.

Now, I alike a balance of important songs, and personal songs, like Strung Out keep it real with the politics. There are alot of these bands actually, rather than the totally political such as Propagandhi.
Other socially/politically charged bands: Abhorrance, Architect, Bane (in spurts), Death By Stereo, Dying Fetus, Good Neighbor Policy, Good Riddance, The Haunted, Lagwagon, Misery Index, NOFX (well all of a sudden), Pennywise (more socio issues, that definitely lead to political views), Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere, Stretch Arm Strong (starting to be anyway), Strung Out, Unearth...

9-11 happened. Everyone got really patriotic, forgot what civil rights were, and got more holy than ever before.
And we have the fact that basically to tour, you have to be unemployed (unless you make it like NOFX). So all these rich kids living off daddy's dimes are the ones on the road. Rich kids are usually very right-wing as well, since everything has been handed to them.
As I Lay Dying is a prime example of both these points.
Bands that ONLY sing about girls drive me nuts. Like Converge has been singing about the same fucking breakup for album over album now.
