ok? so because of one song that was released 14 years ago, i am supposed to alter my opinion of them? you're right, "come out and play" was totally revolutionary with it's usage of middle eastern flavored arrangements. it totally changed the music industry forever, and modern day bands seem to be directly influenced by the magic that was "come out and play."

you may see it as not ripping off any current trends at that time, but the offspring then were nothing more than some dime a dozen california punk band (now they are just a joke). loosely skilled and they really just weren't that great. and their follow up records just kept taking them in a nosedive. so maybe they weren't biting any trends, but they also weren't anything special. they were just another run of the mill cali punk band. the only distinguishable quality they have is dexter's annoying voice.

your view and their's are opposing and you should dispute that with them, because that's what they are basically saying. they are saying that they make "punk" music that is relevent to "punk" at that present time. it's their quote, not mine. explain to me how that is not trendy, i would really like to hear it.

instead of actually being a good band and setting their own sound, they are tapping in to what is trendy and in the moment. they've been around for so long, you would think that people would be ripping them off. lucky for everyone that's not the case, because they fucking suck.

Go ask Agent Orange if they think The Offspring are ripping on any trends.
