    It depends. Sage Francis is amazing live. So's Aceyalone.

    I just don't like a DJ in place of a live band or a clear pre-taped recording. Usually the bass is pumped so loud it drowns out everything.

    And I hate that half song shit. So many songs have guest rappers that the artists can only perform 1/3 of the fucking song, anyway.

    Rap and hip-hop sounds pretty sweet in small clubs, rather big open spaces. If they play all the music of a CD or decks, it will suck, but I saw Public Enemy last year with a full backing band and it was pretty sweet. Seeing them in a couple weeks again...
