"Sometime back, Punknews.org posted a MP3 of the week from the Iowa based band Faultlines. They have now signed with a small label out of Chicago called Action Heights Records. The band will enter the studio in December with Mike Lust (Ten Grand, Will Whitemore) to release their still to be titled debut. Suspect to see it out in late winter of 2004."

and shares with us that Rolling Stone has taken it upon themselves the great task of rating the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, which can be seen at their website (and in the print magazine). The #1 spot goes to the Beatles for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". The Beatles also have 3 other albums in the top ten.

Concerning punk rock, "London Calling" by the Clash takes the #8 spot, the "Velvet Underground and Nico" ranks at #13, and the Ramones self-titled debut hits at #33. Also on the list are albums from the Replacements, Husker Du, Suicide, Wire, The Sex Pistols, Green Day, Nirvana, Black Flag, Minutemen, Buzzcocks, Johnny Cash, X, Pixies, The Cure, The Stooges and others. Check out the full list (which is quite a read) at Rolling Stone's site.

Update: Because we love you, our team of scientists have extracted the punk / new wave and related placings from the list and posted them below.
