The Queers has released an update on their plans for the next year.
The band recently completed a trip to Australia and have some time booked soon to begin work on their next full length. For the next album, the pop-punk act is planning to enlist the help of Lisa Marr, JJ Rassler and Ben Weasel who will also contribute in some way to the record which will be recorded in Chicago.
Other release plans include a live album this year which they are planning to release via their own Doheny Records. Besides that, the band has joined numerous defectors from the troubled Lookout Records camp with plans to re-release much of their older material via Asian Man Records. That label was responsible for a full slate of Screeching Weasel releases throughout 2005.
As with those releases, the Queers editions will be remastered and remixed and the band hopes to issue Vinyl releases via Doheny as well. A tribute album is also in the works, with contributions from The New Bomb Turks, Teengenerate, Screeching Weasel, Parasites, Le Volume Etait Au Maximum and the Femurs. Hopes are that the Hard-Ons, Dwarves and others will round out the track listing
The video is a memorial to drummer and close friend Derrick Plourde who ended his life earlier this year and was a founding member of both Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut.
You can check out the video here: "Heartbreaking Music" in Windows Media and Quicktime formats.

Thrice has posted two holiday-themed songs on their myspace page. The first song is "Carol of the Bells" which is a well-known Christmas song. The second is a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War is Over)" which coincidentally was also performed by Bert McCrackin and Street Drum Corps on the recent Taste of Christmas compilation.
The band is currently touring Canada in support of Vheissu. They plan to follow the holidays with a tour schedule beginning in January. First, the band is headed to Europe with Coheed and Cambria in January and February. Following that, the band will join Pelican, Deftones, Atreyu and others for the Taste of Chaos 2006 tour.

The upcoming posthumous DVD from Denali does not have a hard release date, but Lovitt is hoping to issue the DVD at the end of January or early February.
The disc, which follows the band's split in 2004 is titled Pinnacle and will include 85 minutes of content including: a 44 minute concert, videos for "Hold your Breath" and "Relief," alternate angles for "The Instinct" and "Normal Days," over 150 pictures of the band members, two home movies and a hidden easter egg.
Haram¹s upcoming S/T full-length CD/LP should be out around March and the
band will be doing a 5-week tour starting at the end of February to support
the record. Haram features members of Majority Rule, Pg. 99, City of
Caterpillar, and Malady.
The Grey's full-length, Asleep at the Wheel, will also be released at the
same time as the Haram full-length. Sonic Deadline Records in Canada
released a limited run of the EP in silk-screened digipaks.
Bats & Mice has come full circle with their line-up and Jonathan Fuller has
re-joined the band. Luke moved out to Oakland, CA, in 2004 and joined
Totimoshi and with Engine Down coming to an end, it worked out that Jonathan
could once again work with Ben and David. They have been working on new
material and hope to record a full-length at some point next year. No word
on when the first show with this line-up will be (this version of the Bats &
Mice never played live) but hopefully they will be ready by late spring. The band previously released Bats and Mice in 2001.
