The Futureheads have given fans a taste of their upcoming third full length with the release of "Broke Up The Time." You can check out a clip of the song at the band's MySpace page or head to their new website for a full download (after you sign up for a list, of course).
The new record will arrive in 2008 and follows up 2006's News and Tributes. The band recorded for three weeks in Andalusia, Spain with producer Martin "Youth" Glover. Guitarist Ross Millard commented earlier that unlike the restrained sophomore full length "there's much more Punk Rock spirit in the new stuff." No label has been connected with the record as of yet.

In what some might call a brutally honest yet hopelessly one-sided blog post the members of Dance Gavin Dance have outlined in very specific, uncomfortable terms that they singer Jonny has left the band. The full details are available via the link but the gist of it comes down to lifestyle decisions made by the singer involving substance use and financial dealings.
A biography of the singer and explanation for the split can be found here and the band is currently starting the audition process for a new singer.
The band was touring in support of Downtown Battle Mountain with fellow Sacramentians Tera Melos and have had to cancel their appearances at those shows.
