Generic Insight Radio to air 100th episode tonight
Contributed by onegirlarmy. Posted by brian on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 9:30 PM (EDT)
Brooklyn, NY-based webcast Generic Insight Radio is set to air their 100th episode live tonight at 10:00 P.M. EST.
The program will feature some archived interviews, a special theme of sorts and a contest. Host/DJ Barrie Cohn explains:
In honor of this event, GIR will be running a contest where they air some of the best parts of three classic interviews, but, won't be telling the listeners who the bands are right away. Before the airing of each interview clip(s), they will be going to air songs that relate to each band in some way, only one song being a song by the actual artist that the interview is of. You, as the listener, will have to guess who the artist is in question. If you guess correctly you'll be able to win a bunch of prizes.
Also tonight on the show will be a short call-in interview with Chris Borrelli, owner of Eternal Hope Records.
You can tune in via this link, and send an instant message to GenInsightRadio on AOL Instant Messenger for requests and contest inquiries.
Generic Insight Radio released their first compilation last year through the aforementioned Eternal Hope. Volume 2 is expected to be released later this year.

Foxboro Hot Tubs, the 50s-style garage band made up (alledgedly) by members of Green Day have posted a new song from full length version of their debut album, Stop Drop And Roll. The record is set for release on April 29, 2008.
You can find "The Pedestrian" on their myspace page.
Speaking of Green Day, any doubt that the vocalist is Billie Joe will almost certainly be erased by this particular track. That, or Warner has cloned him like that bit at the end of Resident Evil 3.

Posted by aubin on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 4:00 PM (EDT)
Fall Out Boy's recently announced trip to Antarctica has been cancelled due to the effects of global warming. According to reports,
Antarctica’s Wilkins Ice Shelf, a slab of ice reported to be seven times the size of Manhattan, collapsed. The band's unofficial spokesman commented:
Someone sent (the story) to me and they’re like ‘Oh now you guys are going and this ice shelf fell that wasn’t supposed to fall for another 15 years.” And I’m like, ‘We didn’t even land there so that wasn’t even our fault. Basically it’s more evidence of global warming. Essentially our runway just fell off.

Thursday have posted an update on their upcoming plans which include recording and three April shows. The band released Kill the House Lights last year, but have not released a new studio record since 2006's A City by the Light Divided:
We know it’s been a little while since you’ve heard from all of us here in Thursday World but we’ve been working diligently behind the scenes to bring you the next stage of the band’s life. We’re writing you from Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City where we’re recording some new stuff. There will be an exciting announcement, around April 1st, to let you know when and where we’ll be releasing these tracks but in the meantime we’re planning to get out of the studio and try them out live. So we have three shows coming up and they should be a blast. The first two shows are Poughkeepsie and Lancaster with one of our favorite new bands Envy On the Coast:
