About:

"Newest Industry is a DIY, underground UK punk rock record label that is run by Jo and Dave out of a house in Cardiff, Wales. We have been in existence since the Summer of 2002 where we spent many months working towards our first release, the "Dry River Fishing" CD album by NO CHOICE. Even though the amount of releases we have out is now into double figures, we are by no means really any bigger than when we first started. We do not have a "proper" office, and we do not shift thousands upon thousands of units a week. We try to do our best with releases by bands that we absolutely love, and very much respect the fact that these bands even want to work with us in the first place. We will never, ever put a release out we are not one hundred percent into. What would be the point in that? Also, we have two cats called Chap and Arnold. They're great."

Newest Industry down, but not out...
Newest Industry Records has risen from the land of the (almost) dead and announced their return after going on the dreaded "Indefinite Hiatus" earlier this year. After a few months of deliberation, I decided not to kill off Newest Industry completely. I have re–launched the label with a brand new website – http://www.thenewestindustry.com – and a new record – the first in a year and a half, which is the new 7" from FOUR LETTER WORD (split release with No Idea…

Newest Industry Records on indefinite hiatus
Cardiff, Wales based label Newest Industry is hitting the breaks. Dave made the announcement reads as follows: It's like when a band breaks up but lies about it, they say they're on ''indefinite hiatus" - that's kinda what is happening with Newest industry Records. After almost 5 years, 20 releases and a ridiculous amount of debt (20,000 pounds - that's 40,000 dollars) we have finally given in... money is the main problem (obviously), no one buys our records even though they're awesome, but there's also the stress of dealing with…
