Congratulations! You're the lucky reader of the 44th edition of the Punknews.org Vinyl File. This column aims to keep you informed of upcoming releases as well as spotlighting interesting releases, your favorite bands' own collections and labels with a history of vinyl releases worth talking about. As always, Vinyl File is brought to you by Ben Conoley.
This week, we've got a load of stuff in store for you. First of all, we've got a winner of last week's Off with Their Heads contest. We also have two brand new contests lined up for this week, in which one winner will be receiving a test pressing of the new LP from Landmines and another will get one from The Methadones, who we also interviewed for this week. Madness.

Gaslight Anthem have released a video for "The '59 Sound," the first single from their upcoming Side One Dummy album of the same name. The band is about to embark on an Australian tour before returning to North America to kick off some CD release shows.

The Hold Steady have appeared in a new clip from online broadcaster VBS.TV. In the video members of the celebrated Brooklyn-based act compete with some VBS staffers in a series of bar games. You can check out the video below. The band is currently supporting their new long player Stay Positive.
Tours: Less Than Jake announce free acoustic in-store performances

Less Than Jake has announced three upcoming free in-store acoustic performances in support of their new record GNV FLA. The band will appear at Rasputin Records in San Francisco on July 25th, at The Block At Orange in Orange, CA on July 27th, and at Encore in Austin, TX on August 2nd.

Longstanding English punk act The Damned has announced some fall US tour dates on the west coast in October and November. Further details are forthcoming, but right now expect the shows in Anaheim and San Diego to feature the Adolescents. East coast US dates are being confirmed and should be announced shortly.
Earlier in the summer the Damned announced that they were in the studio recording a new full length. Drummer Pinch documented three weeks of the recording process via a studio blog at MySpace. The new record will be the band's first since 2001's Nitro released Grave Disorder.

Hot Water Music has confirmed what is expected to be their final reunion tour dates of 2008. The band has shows coming up in Toronto, ON at Wakestock this weekend, followed by Los Angeles, CA, Pomona, CA, Portland, OR and Denver, OR. They'll play that latter set of shows with bands like Strike Anywhere and the Bouncing Souls on select dates. The group has been performing in support of their recent b-sides compilation Til the Wheels Fall Off.
Tours: The Phenomenauts plan "Large Hadron Collider" tour

The Phenomenauts have announced the "Large Hadron Collider" tour which will also feature members of the Epoxies, The Slackers, Groovie Ghoulies and the River City Rebels. NASA's favourite new/wave punk band are headlining the tour to celebrate the upcoming launch of the Large Hadron Collider, a massive collider which aims to discover the origins of matter, including the elusive Higgs Boson as well as establish the nature of "dark matter." The collider could find evidence of extra
dimensions, a boon for super-string theory, which holds that quarks,
the particles that make up atoms, are infinitesimal vibrating strings.
Deal's Gone Bad cancels shows after frontman's appendectomy

On Monday July 14, Todd Hembrook, vocalist for Chicago ska/jamaican
soul act Deal's Gone Bad was rushed to hospital with extreme
stomach pains where he underwent surgery to have his appendix
removed. He is recovering well but his condition is forcing the band
to cancel most of their East Coast Tour, at least up until July 29th in Cincinnati, OH. The group is hoping that Todd will be well enough to play later dates and will announce details via MySpace. Canceled dates are to be re-scheduled as soon as possible.
Deal's Gone Bad is currently supporting their recent album The
Ramblers, which was released in conjunction with Jump Up and Megalith
Records. The band also recently released a 3 CD box set of their
earlier work.

Lansing, Michigan hardcore act Hold Me Back have posted two new unmastered recordings online. The songs come from a new demo which will be released sometime this fall. Check it out at MySpace.
Poughkeepsie, New York's Slaymarker has posted two more songs from their upcoming untitled LP. Both songs are covers of Nickelodeon cartoon themes. You can find all the insanity at
MySpace.
Oneonta, New York's The Knockdown will be releasing their debut full length Test/Retest later this month on Kiss of Death Records. For the next two weeks you can stream the record at their website.

NOFX has added a run of Canadian dates to their recently announced tour with Dillinger Four. The Flatliners providing support as well. NOFX most recently appeared on the Fuse Television series, Backstage Passport. D4 will be releasing their new album any day now, but you can find the artwork here.
Dillinger Four are currently in the studio at The Terrarium with Dave Gardner in Minneapolis, MN.
