The A.K.A.s sign to Metropolis Records

In a recent blog on their MysSpace page, The A.K.A.s have announced that they have signed to Metropolis Records. The band is currently recording their new album and is looking for an early 2008 release. The last release from the A.K.A's's was 2005's White Doves & Smoking Guns on their old home Fueled By Ramen.

We're checking in with more great news as things are wrapping up with the recording of our new record! After much too much time passing since the release of White Doves & Smoking Guns, we are excited to announce... we have signed with Check them out and add the label on METROPOLIS RECORDS for our forthcoming sophomore album!

Metropolis Records is home to our friends and past tour mates Mindless Self Indulgence and The Start!, as well as some other great bands that we dig, including Electric Six, The Epoxies, Moving Units, and more. With the overabundance of bad music in the world, and the bad part of the double-edged sword of being a "unique" band, we are excited to work with a label that we feel is a great home for our brand of Dance Hall Fight Music!

In case you haven't heard, we're headed out on the road this Friday with BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE and WHOLE WHEAT BREAD! For those of you who were disappointed to find us not rocking in your hood, never fear... we have just been confirmed on another tour that we will be announcing very shortly, so we'll be on our way to hang with you very soon!

We've been working on a video to document the recording process and have more photos for you to see, so stay tuned for a new blog post soon! In the meantime, please spread the word to all your friends about our new record and get ready to rock on the Big D Tour. Dates are on our profile!
