A lot of different labels have been applied to Consumed. Skate-punk, post-punk, hardcore-punk revival, etc. But one thing is certain: Consumed is punk. Formed in 1994 in an industrial town in Nottinghamshire, England outside of Sherwood Forest (think Robin Hood), the British quartet quickly gained popularity and a presence in the national punk scene. They played punk songs at punk shows with a punk attitude, and people noticed. Consumed would sign with indie giant Fat Wreck Chords, go on to tour the U.K. with NOFX and even make it onto the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 soundtrack before breaking up in 2003. I remember getting this in 2000, I think I might have played it every day that year. Ever since I've played it regularly. Totally one of the better imports to the label, aside from Wizo and Snuff. Breakfast at Pappas is definitely the best, but glad to see the band is getting noticed, even if it is too late. Bought this at a used book store years ago during college. What an awesome find! The sound is very FAT, if you know what I mean. "think Robin Hood" Agreed, Breakfast at Pappa's was my favourite. This does have Twat Called Maurice, and that song is amazing. I live a stones throw from nottingham and still never saw these live, dammit! Their song on the peepshow dvd was fun I liked Pistols At Dawn and Breakfast At Pappa's a lot more than this one. |

I discovered this band on one of the fat wreck comps back in 2001. I was in the Army at the time... I would cruise down the autobahn blasting this album. Love it still.
