Many of you starting to read this are wondering exactly what this album is. Well, to begin, this is the best live album ever created. Period. As hard as it is for me, I hold it in higher regards than the Face to Face live album, Social D's "Live at the Roxy", even the Descendents "Liveage". Yes, the Descendents. few problems with this review...first off, its not just their europe tour, i was at the show where "struck a nerve" and "no control" were recorded, really crappy club that was also a gentlemen's club. and second, it was actually never released stateside. Sony's europe label released it as thier stateside label (pretty sure it was atlantic, but certain) wouldn't allow the release. I actually ordered it from the newsletter they sent out, Bad Times i seem to remember. other than those gripes, it is in fact a killer live album This album is pretty TITS. Right up there with the Circle Jerks "Gig". BR has always been a pretty tight band live. I got this Tested CD as a Promo probably about 6 years ago in one of those cardboard sleeves for about 2 or 3 bucks. It was totally worth it. hahahahaha! Dude, I've seen them about 10 times and they've played ALONG THE WAY every single time. That song is super popular. I'm thinking you've never been to a BR show. At least not more than one. I actually like this album. yeah its a great live album, but there are a few others i think are as good (if not better) most notably midnight oils "scream in blue - live" which was a collection of songs recorded at different venues over 10 years. And who can forget Iron Maiden 'Live after death' or Uk Subs 'left for dead' or even slayers 'decade of aggression'... and my fave live album ever, the damned - live at newcastle. Sounds like shit but its so fucking funny and punk rock... While it's a good recording, it totally lacked many of Brett's songs. There were like 3 Brett songs, and the rest was all Graffin. Ahh well, all in all it was a pretty good CD. I agree with the guy down below, Live At Leeds by The Who is the greatest live album I can think of off the top of my head. I never heard this album the whole way through, but I really doubt it can top Live At Leeds, which is as good as most any studio album ever made, not just by The Who, mind you. 10 stars for Live At Leeds! I never said they always play Generator, I said it is a popular live favorite... They didnt even play Generator in Calgary at warped, so calling that a song they always play is wrong. they didnt play along the way at my citys warped tour this year The blue meanies also did a live album where they took songs they recorded live all over the country and made it sound like one show they didn't play it on their tour with blink 182. Yeah, I've seen BR 7 times and they played Along the Way all 7 times. I wonder if this reviewer has ever been to a Bad Religion concert! They always play Along the Way, let me tell you! IN spite of the simplicity of the song, it's a must in every gig, otherwise they get beat! It actually has 3 studio tracks, dream of unity, it's reciprocal and tested. My second favorite live album from my second favorite band of all time, this is a great one, and probably the best produced live album ever made. However, to claim that this is better than The Who's "Live at Leeds" is lunacy. Sure this is punknews.org, but there wouldn't really be punk without the 'Oo anyway, I suggest you pick up that album if you don't have it. My mom bought this cd for me for X-mas a few years back, and they sold her a fucking burnt version. I could never figure out why there were no liner notes or anything like that until I saw it at a store and asked to open it up. If you're ever in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, never buy albums from the Vinyl Exchange. Fuck them! HEY! It also has two studio tracks that were never released on an album here. "Dream of Unity" (one of my favorite BR songs) and "Its reciprocal" (not as good but a good bridge). this thing cost me 20 goddamn bucks, but it was well worth it Its ok.Nice collection of some of the best BR songs, but some sound like shit. have you ever heard the 7 Seconds live cd (scream real loud). It is very good. |
