Enrolled in a computer keyboarding class my freshman year, I met a young man with greasy black hair, heavy material work pants that just barely reached the top of his ankle and t-shirts that fastened to his ribs, revealing his awkwardly thin body. i think this is probably yalls best album One of the most amazing and iconic albums ever. That is, for me personally. I can see that Coheed is pretty hit-and-miss with most people, but for me, it's a hit! And SSTB is amazing! Everything Evil Coheed & cambria is the greatest band ever and anyone who says otherwise i will beat u into the ground he he shabutie Pure greatness One of the best most influential cds of its time. Best by coheed so far, without a skippable track! lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove! ^.^ Yessshh! Believe it or not, their voices may be high, but they're still considered the basics for a choral tenor. Trust me...I would know this, 'cause I thought my voice kicked ass in the rock scene, and then my choir director was all RAWRRR YOU SHOULDN'T BE SINGING IN TENOR, YOU SHOULD STICK WITH BASS!! *hats off to C&C* love this cd but i have better ones .i listen to this band all the time. But they can do better and i think they know they can do better. otherwise really great i listen to it at least once a week . This is one of my favorite albums recorded in the last ten years. The speed and aggression of punk with catchy lyrics and vocals that remind you of Rush. My favorite Coheed album. I don't skip a track on this one. To the guy that said this: this cd is coheed...coheed is the best...this is perhaps not their best cd but its defo something worth buying, (however i'm thinking if this cd was as long as the newer 2 cds then perhaps it cud take the gold medal) thers a strange feeling this cd gives, ofcors as with any co&ca album it needs to be listend to more than once to get into it, but if your a coheed fan already from the other cds you should understand this. Coheed has orgies on their spaceship. The first time I heard this album, I said, "What IS this crap? UGH! SICK!" Then...I decided to give it another listen and I fell in love! Claudio's vocal range is absolutely astounding and the sheer artistry of the album IKSOSE: 3 left me screaming, "Claudio, OH!" I'm so happy that there's finally a band whose CD I can listen to in its entirety without wanting to choke myself or suffer through an insipid chorus of "oh how I love you, but you don't understand." All I can say is...amazing. I can't hink of any other word but great great review great band. Fucking astounding. yea i have to say this band if freakin incredible, i saw them in concert last week and i was standing there in awe. Claud rocks with his mad range, great band. they will get big soon enough Coheed and Cambria rocks my socks. Musical and literary geniuses, amazing music backed by a riveting story of interglactic destruction, love, and monsters. Anyone who thinks Coheed sucks, is obviously ignorant to what talented musicians are. Best album of the year. These guys are more pretentious than Tim Kinsella, yet manage to sound worse than Joan-of-Arc. When I bought this CD, i loved the music, they are so talented in songwriting and with their instruments and the power behind them. I just can't get over the singer's voice, it's way too fucking high, it's intolerable. This cd is soooooooooooooo awesome. I didn't know what to expect when i first put the cd in. I thought I had heard a women's voice hahaha. This guy is a tremendous vocalist and the music behind it is good. Get this cd get there new cd which comes out october 7th as well The sound of this album is mediocre, but the vocals prevent me from really enjoying the disc. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this one, but if you stumble upon it you could give it a listen. Thats just my opinion. Later. I hate people that talk about Claudio so disrespectfully "his voice is annoying" , Let it grow into you , Keep open eyes and you will at least have respect for this band. Sick guitars and nice vocals. This is one of my favorite albums ever. Every song is sick. And don't put this band under a label... Read their mission on Coheedandcambria.com its awesome. Co&Ca are a pretty damn good band. Favourite tune has to be "Everything Evil". First time I heard Claudio I was a bit like "Is this guy 15? Is this a chick?" Now I love it and this album seems to just get better with every additional listen. Also, another strongpoint is that each song stands as a seperate 5 minute offering. However, at times you do have to ask whether you are still listening to the same song, thats how varied each tune is. Equal Vision certainly have a great band on there hands and it is no surprise there has already been a string of try-hard Co&Ca bands (the most blatant of which would have to be Anatomy of A Ghost). I guess there is enough here for mainstream and elitist punks alike, which is quite a triumph in itself, as I can only think of a few other bands that have this kind of credibility (At the Drive-in, Thrice, Thursday). So in the words of Molly Meldrum "do yourself a favour" and check this out for yourselves. tom sawyer is a great song. Great review. Great band. Anyone who doesnt like the singer simply has no taste. Call it your opinion, I call it you being a ass. Someone trys something unique, and absolutely nails it, and they are faced with criticism like, "hes too whiny". Too whiny? What? Do you even know what that word means? Too high? I didnt know having a vocal range was a sin now. Go to http://www.equalvision.com and listen to "Delirium Trigger" and tell me the chorus on that song ("Oh dear god, I dont feel alllliiiiiiiivvve!") isnt the single most emotional moment you have felt in a song in the last few years. Bands like this keep music going. everybody better shut up now. Coheed And Cambria.....are the best band alive coheed and cambria. by far could be the most amazing, outstanding, all around, most creative bands i have ever heard. nothing in the world has pushed more adrenilyn through my body than seeing coheed and cambria live. i wanted claudio's outstanding voice to just range so far that i wouldnt be able to see and my head would just cave in and my body would explode everywhere with light bursting out of my mouth. haha. they were so incredible live i cant exactly explain it. i was upset because i got to the show late, as they were playing "delirium trigger" and i very much wanted to wittness claudio singing "oh dear god i dont feel alive!" and just spill my guts out of my face sceaming along. it all worked out, because after the show i got a chance to have a nice one-on-one conversation with THE man himself, claudio shanchez. his attitude and niceness towards fans are as great as his skill in singing and playing guitar. he was very cool and i talked to him about such songs as "elf power" and the techno song they did as Shabutie. i also discussed further on the "book" people have been mentioning. it is about the two character Coheed and Cambria, but it is not a book, it is a comic. im very excited to get my hands on that when it is available. also found out that they are recording in March. im extremely anxious to see what they have to offer again. they played a new song during the show, very impressive, especially because it was live and no one knew it, it still rocked the crowd, thats pretty rare since alot of people that go to shows wont even move their hands out of their armpits if they dont know the words to the song. i havent heard anything bad or disliked from friends i have showed this band, they dont often listen to this type music either. the lyrics that are written are phenomenal. they remind me of a horror movie script of some type, it almost as if your watching everything that is going on, as a 3rd person view. well thats the feeling i get anyway. if you get into the music, and the feeling that drives you when you just dont care about anything but whats pumping through your mind and its being sadated by music, and you just scream out with the words, Co&Ca is the best band for that. Especially tracks like "everything evil" or the song with maybe the best chorus ever "time consumer". the whole album just never gets old, the variety makes it interesting each time you listen to it. i cant say enough about this amazing band and how creative and tallented claudio is with his voice and fingers crawling up and down the frets of his guitar, looks like a spider took a few hits of speed and cant find his way off the guitar. i was surprised to see him playing alot of lead. his vocals couldnt be better, i couldnt be jealous of anyone more. i certainly told him that too haha, his afro gets an A as well. all in all, im blabbing too much, this whole masterpeice of musical art is one i used to fantasize about, before i knew something like it actually exsists! get the cd, find the songs that werent put on the cd online like "elf power" and "nauraushaun". a great video of them live playing "delirium trigger" is on http://www.thisisnotemo.com Today emo has become to mean only crappy pop songs with horrible lyrics about girls. Enter Coheed And Cambria, a band who take the emo sound and make it good again with lyrics that cover many emotions, powerful vocals, great musicianship, and an air of creepiness in the music. C&C isn't so much emo as it is a blend of post-hardcore and pop-rock. The biggest standout in the music is lead singer Claudio's voice. It's kinda girly but overal without his voice the music wouldn't be the same. Drop your preconcevied notions about "emo" and buy this record. Great site! uhh, yea it is alittle to deep for my liking too. like the new cave in. i proposed a rule to my intellectual dorkus malorkus emo/indy friend that no band should have more than 2 songs that break 5 min. on an album. these guys are good, but the album is too fuckin drawn out, the dudes voice grates on me after awile. and u say nfg is a chick band? dude this bands fan base was like 80% emo dorky girls, it was like a dashboard show. This band just sounds a little too "deep" for my liking. I can get into intellectual, thought provoking bands but this one just sounds too much like a metaphor and not enough like a band. I mean the name being derived from characters from some story.. I didnt even bother to read the comment because the sheer intellectual intensity of these comments and especially the review was too much for me to handle when I dont want to look too far into it. If I am mistaken for thinking all of this please just tell me and maybe I will check this band out. But if I have all of this right these guys are not up my alley. This review just made me want to go get my Andrew WK cd and get back to the moronic form of rock and roll. I would love to get into some new bands and I heard good things about these guys but now I just cant see myself thinking THIS MUCH while I am listening to music. Rush rules, check out this song the singer does sound a bit like rush. but these guys are still good, the singer fits. rush, however, blows total ass. Ok, I haven't heard these guys but this score is for Rush. What's the point of being an ultra-talented musician if you can't write worth a shit. Rush sucks ass. And I don't want to hear any 'Rush rules, check out this song', because I've heard it and it sucks. Did I mention Rush sucks? Pretty crappy. Sounds a lot like Rush crossed with Thursday. If this is supposed to "save" emo/hardcore let me be the first to say "Point me to the band, I've got a syringe full of the ebola virus" These guys come from my area, they were just starting to get big as I got into the scene, though, so I never saw any of their earlier shows, though for some reason I was put on their mailing list when they were still *shabutie. The guy's voice is okay for emo, I guess. They play a lot of shows around the area still, I saw the singer do a solo acoustic set at a park a while back. Not a bad band at all. worst review ever. touche! Funny? The only thing I find funny is how Scott is amused by vocalists that sing rings around everyone else in the scene. And I thought the singer of *Hankshaw* sounded funny... is it just me or does anyone else find the singer ANNOYING AS SHIT!! Their music is fantastic, but the singer fucking blows, he ruins it all. I can't listen to it for more then a couple min before i have to turn the shit off. And they sound the same live i just saw them a couple days ago with From Autumn to Ashes who was 5 times better. dammit the guy right below me beat me.....i hate double posters.....so now i hate myself Well, its great to see them get some credit on this site. Yes, Coheed and Cambria is an extremely amazing band. Check them out if you like Snapcase. Check them out if you like New Found Glory. Hell, check them out if you like Rush. That's what's so great about this album. Oh, and Coheed and Cambria are the main characters in a book that Claudio, the lead singer, is writing. This album is like a soundtrack to the book, which is actually volume two. The name comes from the epic story involving two characters in their travels through science fiction adventures loosely based on Claudio's love lost and love found. The character's names are Coheed And Cambria. So in turn, the band itself is conceptual. Great Review. I think I'm definatly going to go check out this band. On a side note, anyone know what the hell the band's name means? F said this review was gay i guess because of the name of the reviewer. For the love of god, give me a break. this cd was the first cd in ages that i accually said 'wow. this is good' when i first popped in it. there is something about co&ca that is just different and..well..good. great things can only come to this band. good review. dope review, excellent cd. a little to long of songs for my short attention span, and he sounds a little to much like the dude in rush, but is that a bad thing? aside from his voice annoying some poeple, others love it. the hype is building fast around these guys and i must admit the cd is good and pleases indy,emo,hc and poppy punk fans alike. watch out. i once heard of a band called the getupkids that did the same..(alright except the hardcore kids'.good shit im seeing them tonight! with zao, shai halud, from autumn to ashes, unearth and underoath. you know you wish you were me :) i don't know much about this band but props on the review. well written. to the gentleman a couple of posts down who was bitching about the review, get your head out of your ass and realize an amazing and talented band when you hear one. On another note, what the fuck is wrong with an emo/indie band getting on tv and being popular. Good for them, their hard work is paying off. I think everyone should support the success of these bands, get over that childish shit about how you can't like something that is popular, and as soon as a band becomes popular they are "selling out". It may not be all that likely, but i hope the best for coheed and cambria and hopefully they will one day be popular amazing CD, i think claudios voice (when he sings) sounds dead on live, and when he screams it sounds even better live. he has so much range it's sick. and live, they don't make mistakes. their so technical. half the time i'm standing there shaking my head in disbelief. teh new material is even better, the song they've been playing on tour is 8 or 9 minutes of pure genius. That's funny you said that his voice is produced excellently on the record. Because at the show he sounds totally different, and when my friend asked him why, he said it was because the recording was very very mediocre as well as the mixing (obviously). Still, I think this band is overrated, and will either A.) Follow Dashboard/Jimmy Eat World/The Get Up Kids into the life of playing late night TV and arenas with washed up bands like Weezer... -OR- B.) They'll blow over and everyone will forget about them. This album RULES.....Breath of fresh air to hear something this good. An amazing tech band. i was blown away amazing straight review. i don't like this band OR the indie genre, in general, but i'll have to disagree with the previous statement.
