There is always at least one CD in you collection that you never listen to, but for some reason you don't wanna throw it away either.In my case it's the Sick of it all's live cd 'Live in a World full of hate'.

I bought this cd because I saw it in a record store that was closing down, and the prices were reduced.I knew that I couldn't expect much since it was recorded back in 1993, while they were still your average hard core band.

The cd starts off with short intro, like most live cds, the band welcomes the crowd and they start to play Injustice system...Damn...There are no words to describe how shitty it sounds.

There are some good moments on this cd with songs like: Shut me up, Locomotive, The blood and the sweat, We stand alone and My life, but again it is all rauined by terrible guitar and bass sounds and even worse vocals from Lou Koller. The only positive side to all this is that Arman's drumming is near perfect which saves this record a bit.

Considering that they are much better musicians now and probably want to prove that they can do much better than 'Live in a World full of hate', they will come back with a vengeance with their take on Fat Wrecks 'Live in a dive' which should be out in a couple of months.

In conclusion, Sick of it all kick ass but I am warning everyone to stay away from this CD. It has 24 songs...but I would trade it all for their 'Potential for a fall' single.

This record is flawless. It captures the band at an early point and breathes life into songs that are not nearly as good on the respective record(mostly, I'm talking about the 'Just Look Around' material). This is as good of a live recording as I'd care to own.
Obviously in the world of live albums from the Alkaline Trio, where almost everything is re-recorded in a studio or overdubbed to hell some people expect more live albums that aren't really "live". The reviewer apparently doesn't fully appreciate what he/she has. Ignore this review and know that this is an excellent live recording of the band playing a bunch of songs they don't play anymore, sadly.
also of note: they cover Minor Threat's Betray on this and make it as furious as you can possibly imagine.
At times I'd rather listen to this than the 'live in a dive' record.

I like this cd. I love old sick of it all. While the musicianship has progressed, I'll say that everything post-built to last just doesn't have that same kick it used to.

They must have edited out the parts of the show where they stopped to yell at kids fighting. I still have yet to see a SOIA show without at least one fight.

Sick of it all is still one of the greatest hardcore bands of all time. 16 straight years of killing it. Their records do have some questionable moments, but their live show is unparalled. Whether its 40,000 kids in Europe or 200 in some shit town in the US, SOIA are non stop, unbridled, tight, powerful core. The real deal.

Anyway, this CD is pretty damn good for what it is. And what it is a bootleg done by the most infamous rip off label of all time, Lost & Found from Germany. There are no overdubs or selections of the good songs that kids like or whatever like that, the CD is a straight from the board bootleg that was put out without the bands permission. If you think that is hard to believe, Lost and Found did this to numerous bands in the late 80's and 90's, Sick of It All, Battery, the Bruisers, etc etc etc.

The reviewer of this CD does one thing for me, though. He confirms there are kids who do indeed like SOIA for their 'newer' stuff and aren't as familiar with the 'classic" songs. That makes me smile because it means its still working for them and it means hardcore is still strong.

I'm not positive which live record this is, but if it's the one where they cover minor threat at the end, i think you are being way too hard on the production quality... from what i remember it was pretty damn good

The production sucks, but this album is pretty cool. Not perfect, but is all really good older SOIA shit.
