I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Modest Mouse is one of the highlights in music of recent years. Their sheer earnesty and love for music and ideas has propelled them all the way to a major record label (EPIC). But let's take a look at their road to major-label status. Preceeding The Lonesome Crowded West, Modest Mouse's first full-length release was This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. Please login or register to post comments. If you are nitpicking, I did review Waterdown. However, I am reviewing all of the Modest Mouse discs first, since they are some of my favorite discs. And wow guys, thanks for pointing out that I mentioned beachside property twice. I don't really care. How bout you talk about the disc rather than the review. That's all that happens on this site, it's personal attacks rather than talking about music. Get a life. Modest Mouse is good. I don't expect the arrogant punk kids to say so though. Looking at the other bands in the New Reviews section of this site, Modest Mouse can't compete with these hardcore punk bands! Musically and lyrically they beat Modest Mouse hands down! Since Modest Mouse is good and I can't think of any other way to rant about the other bands, end. Im sorry, but i hate modest mouse with a deep passion. Just the pinnacle of bad college 'we deny posthardcore, emo, indie rock, or otherwise has anything to do with punk rock' overly drawn out plodding contrived music. the pixies rule "Next come Beachside Property, and She Atomizes and Ionizes, two tracks I do not particularly care for. Following those are Beachside Property, Dog Paddle, and Novacain Stain. Once again, great songs" :x Man you can tell this kid has no bias whatsoever. Another in-depth, well rounded review on punknews.org. Bleagh. all this kid reviews is modest mouse, try listening to something else I heard warner bros. owns 51% of epitaph so.. whats the deal with you listing "beachside property" twice in the review? |
