Mad/Sad, the latest record from New Brunswick, N.J.'s Let Me Run-at its full-throated, earnestly pleading best-brings to mind another Garden State staple, the Wrens, without the subtlety but easily echoed in their big choruses. Surprisingly, you'll also find that if you dig beneath the compressed distortion, a band that could easily pass for '90s college rock regulars the Connells, if given some time to rehearse. And I mean this with all sincerity as a good thing. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
mad sad bad glad dad had fad fun run sun bun One of the most disappointing albums I've had the misfortune of listening to. No way. The Broken Strings EP is great. And I haven't been a huge fan of their recorded output with the third singer, but he and the rest of the band are fucking incredible live. I like Let Me Run, but 'stale' is the perfect word to describe everything they've done since their one vocalist went to Banquets. |

Haven't been able to get into there stuff after the first vocalist that much, though I keep trying to keep an open mind.
I saw them live way back when, and they killed it, but that was with the first vocalist. Since then it's never been bad, but I'd agree with stale.
I don't think anything will ever compare to "The Count of Monte Fisto"(the demo version, it had more umph than the album cut).
