Broadway CallsBroadway Calls: Comfort/DistractionComfort/Distraction (2013)No Sleep Reviewer Rating: 3 User Rating: Contributed by: Mrdogg45Mrdogg45 (others by this writer | submit your own) Broadway Calls sound like lifelong students of pop-punk on their latest album, Comfort/Distraction. Three albums in and the band sound like it knows its genre inside-out, allowing the songwriting to move in somewhat progressive directions for what can often be a very straightforward style. Not ma.

This record is so good! Catchy and fun. Only heard "Lucky Lighter" so far, wich I like a lot! Currently waiting for the record to arrive! this was a good review. excited to hear the record. I like it, I don't really find as much amusement in this genre as this band. This record rules. So catchy, fun and anthemic but with some new flashes thrown in. "Open Letter" is a massive jam. |

4 or 5 of these tracks do what they set out to do and really burrow under your skin, but the rest are so bland I forget I'm listening to them even as they play. Way too mid-tempo, and way too many slow 'anthemic' choruses that are signposted a mile off. Given how publicly they slated the old bassist and his contribution to the songwriting process of the last album, it's disappointing to see them repeating their mistakes on this one.
