Mest / Home Grown / Catch 22 / Madcaplive in Seattle (2002)Warner Music Group Reviewer Rating: User Rating: Contributed by: FatTony (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on October 16th 2002
When I first heard Mest would embark on their first headlining tour this fall and would take Home Grown and Catch 22 along for the ride, I was excited. I didn't even know Madcap had been added to the bill until the day before the show. But as the show neared, I became a little more nervous as I'd seen Mest a couple times before. One time, they were really drunk and played like shit and the other, they only got a 20 minute set. I'd also heard some live Catch 22 tracks and tried not to expect too much from them. Whilst walking toward the mainstages at Warped, I heard Mest in the background. The singer sounded like he was being disembowled with a wooden cooking spoon. Oof. "Catch 22 is crappy ska. Second... HomeGrown owns. =)" 'because they know their music stuff' I didnt hear a single song on either of mest's albums that werent comprised of 4 typical pop punk power chords.. At least New Found Glory/Rufio have technical ability. First of all, Catch 22 is crappy ska. Second... HomeGrown owns. =) and third, I'll continue to support Mest because they know their music stuff. THat's it. Why the hell are you here if you don't like the music? You all need to listen to some real music ie: Zepplin or Hendrix, instead of this pathetic nonsense. First of all, Catch 22 is crappy ska. Second... HomeGrown owns. =) and third, I'll continue to support Mest because they know their music stuff. THat's it. i want to murder WussEmoRock. thanks for the advice reeko, it means a lot to me coming from either a person obsessed with nofx or having a really stupid name can't comment - wasn't at this show. eh..Anti-Flag is alright but at least they stand up for some shit that they believe in...and don't talk shit about anti-flag when the topic of this is MEST for gods sake. you should be on your knees sucking anti-flag's dick I've seen catch22 two or three times live, and each time they were really tight and i had a great time. can't speak for this tour, but overall, they're great live (even with the new singer). yea... if i wanna be preached to about how much the gov't sucks i'll get my uncle drunk and let him talk my ear off all night, i don't needa pay money to watch that asshole justin sane do it you're both losers-wussemo who likes rbf and the one who thinks antiflag is good. i'll take anti-flag over rbf anyday you little asswipe. yea, your name really does fit you. hahaha anti-flag is a good band? wow, you're living in a pretty pathetic world. wussemo-you're the fag who likes rbf, right? i hate them. catch 22 is overrated as hell and they should call it quits. mest and punk do not go in the same sentence. madcap is a shitty band who i don't know how they survived this long. damn, what a horrible show. go see a good band like anti-flag. everyone should go see C22 when they have an actual full-time singer again. LTJskanka, seriously, stop talking. you make a point and then you fuck yourself over because you keep talking, so now, just shut the fuck up. people don't have to like catch 22, and we all now know you do, so put a lid on it. ltjskank, you're a moron. Just stop talking, for crying out loud! why doesnt any one like c22 there so incredibly awesome, and just becauuse they have a different sound on stage doesnt mean they suck live, i think they sound better live even better than the live tracks on washed up and throught the ringer , it seems to me that there lead singer/sax player was really fed up with this tour from what i saw in az, its too bad they had to play with the oh so shitty mest, cmon mest? they suck, all there songs sound the same and with the screamin fat girls at there shows it gets annoying from what i read in this review they dont have any taste it sad to see catch 22 come down to this, should of quit after alone in a crowd Let's give it up for suicide? oh how mature. and I can't fuckin believe their bassist actually had to suggest 'Hey let's play another song', that's completely ridiculous. what a good band They should be dragged into the street and shot for even touching a nirvana song. "the lead singer goes on to say that this is a punk show and if people want to crowd-surf, then they should because that's what it's all about" | Features
