This disc is dangerous, plain and simple, so be prepared when you listen to it because it will knock you down with its sheer intensity. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Horror makes me want to spinkick a baby in the face. This Album is definitely worthy of a 10. Meaningful lyrics, Great vocals, awesome base lines, intense guitar chords, rhythmic drum beats. I was able to whiteness Pipedown play with 7 Seconds, Great band altogether. best band on AF Rec. better an Anti-Flag to! I got this record recently.. it's one of the best released in recent years. Killer vocals, killer music, killer songs. Worthy of a full ten. I had to post this in support of this band.I have been listening to punk rock/hardcore (primarily punk) since I was about 9 years old (I am now 31) I have gotten to see many great punk bands over the years. I will say though that in the past few years, I have been really dissapointed with the music that is being produced by bands that all seem to be clones of one another. (Nothing beats the late 70's and 80's for punk rock!)However, there are ALOT of great bands out there, they just don't seem to be getting the recognition they deserve. I honestly feel that Pipedown is one of those bands (I do realize it takes time and Pipedown always seems to get great reviews, BUT)..... Although these guys are pretty young, I swear, you would think they had been playing forever! (I don't want to drop names, but I have had the pleasure of getting to know one of the members of this band, and it has been a long time since I have met someone with as much passion about what their band and their music stands for.)Plain and simple, these guys ROCK and are a constant listening favorite in my car and at the moment they are right along side Black Flag, Minor Threat, Suicidal Tendencies, The Dwarves, Cro-Mags and Subhumans currently in circulation in my home CD player. So, with all that being said, you have got to check them out, or else you will be missin out! i met ean at the first philly show in september, i told him to go to k-mart near the troc for a pencil sharpener...haha, anyway, great cd, i liek the song "risen up" and horror" anti flag blows & mumia is guilty. Wait. That AF sampler was great, ive been meaning to get this and thought riot for awhile. ggod review. I envy you, you son of a bitch. I saw Pipedown/Strike Anywhere/Whiskey Rebels in Sacto last summer. It ruled all. This cd kicks some ass... if you liked this CD, check out Strike Anywhere "change is a sound" ... pretty similar, only not as hard. Ok Reko, sure it's late, but I just thought this cd is so great and I didn't get it till spring of this year and i wanted to show how great i thought it was, saying it's right up there with the bastards. Sorry. i saw these guys a while ago w/ the souls and a-f, and they were the first band to play. i haven't heard their cd yet, but my score is for their performance, they rocked. maybe i'll check them out again. i can't remember if i saw them play live...it was either them or throwdown or hands down or some other fucking down band that i can't really get into. Yeah, Anti-Flag are pretty smart marketers. I only first heard about Pipedown when I got A-F's "Mobilize." It comes with a "bonus" disc, a sampler of the bands on A-F Records and when I heard the two Pipedown songs I was like Dang! I gotta get their whole record. I saw them at a show one time with anti-flag. Great live band. My brother swears by the CD, I just haven't had time to listen to it yet. Don't know much about the band, but another fantastic review by Janelle. Good work! |
