| Big D and the Kids Table / The Nightmare Before Halloweenlive in Boston2002 live show Review by: mf See others by this writer fork in hand records (link) Only registered users can post comments Published on November 5th 2002
Halloween in Boston means a few things. There are the things that everyone knows about, the things that aren't boston specific: parties, costumes, and all that nonsense. Then there's the punk rock aspect: The annual fork in hand show. This means that Lan$down $treet, the home to black leather clad eurotrash clubbers and trust-fund sluts gets flooded with punkers. They scream, they puke, they drink, they make a mess, they cause a scene, and it's beautiful, for obvious reasons.

The other cover KITH did may have been Slapshot. They love Jane's Addiction and Slapshot. NOTE TO BOSTONMUSICGUY that was a bloody good review, very nice to hear someone not use a review to bitch about everything. That was a wicked review, in fact probably the best I've read on this site. Big D are awesome and I dont see any shame in getting plastered before headlining bands, it's the best way to pass time anyone here from weymouth or that area? They played Bitch, Unfortunately they didnt play Your Dumped... I love that song. Another KITH favorite.-BostonMusicGuy man i wish i was at the show, but alas i couldnt make it. i love kith and big d, and need to pick up the new EP today (i went yesterday, only to learn it came out today, i was so sure too...) but i've seen em both live before and they rock so i give em a ten I have been informed that Walthams' (no "the"?) costume scheme was in fact a reference to Karate Kid, The lead singer in Daniel-san's Shower cstume and then, the skeletons being the ones who kicked his ass in the movie. Neat, huh? I love Big D... Too bad they played a 21 show in Manhattan last weekend... I was planning on going to it too.. Ah well. Also, my liver says: go to hell. i had really wanted to go to this show, but couldn't. Big D always puts on a great show. BMG, yes, i know which albums Fix My Sink is on. I was referring to the song (which is either called Bitch or Your Dumped....?) that they played, from the first album. BMG, Just a few things to comment on... not to bash your review... which was pretty good (except the unseen... watch them next time), but to inform you so that you know the facts."The Walthams" no. Waltham yes.Gary, lead singer of KITH came out in a straight jacket, tied up, the others came out in hospital scrubsFix my sink, while being an old song, wasnt on their first release. I'm not sure what the original version was done for, but they redid it all for the "Thick as Thieves" album. Very good nonetheless and my personal favorite as well. They played 2 covers, one by jane's addiction and one by a band whos name i cant remember... but they were both pretty good. The new EP comes out today and its a fucking keeper. I got it at the show, and have been listening to it ever since. Hopefully my review for that and the show gets posted.-BostonMusicGuy maybe next time you can watch the Unseen instead of poisoning your liver. Big D and The Kids Table...I like them bunches and bunches...I need to see them live. great review. i thought river city rebels were playing that show?!! oh well. see you at the throwdown.. |
