Goddamn, this was amazing.
They played all of those songs like they sound on the cd's, but it felt like we we're all waiting for something... ...and after finishing "killercrush" nikola said "This is our producer, or mentor, our best friend...." and some dude were walking up on the stage.. wait.. that couldn't be...could it? YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT IT WAS! Mr Brett, good old Mr Brett on stage, he said "Hi" and then started playing the good old riff from "American Jesus". By now, everyone were stunned, yes, we knew there wwere going to be a special guest, but who in the wordl would have expected Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz? "American Jesus" were really awesome, Nikolas voice really fitted the song (but hey, if the singer from simple plan can sing that song, who can't?) and it was a pure pleasure watching the homecoming swedes on stage playing with one of their childhood idols. After finishing "American Jesus", brett stayed on stage and played "Fox" with Millencolin, and he inserted some kickass solos in it which sounded pure great. But no no, Brett didn't leave yet, he had to play "21st Century Digital Boy" with them, and it sounded amazing. Then Brett left with everyone, EVERYONE having a big smile on they're lips. After this they played they're "best" songs in a row, and it was just plain amazing. they Played:
The next surpise were pretty obvious, since the Bombshells were opening, Mårthen came out and sang "home from home" from the cd with the same name with Nikola, i would say it was the highlight, it was the best performed song i've ever seen, Mårthen was just plain crazy. Then they played their last song, their Op Ivy cover "knowledge" (found on "the melancholy collection"), and for this song, all the members of Bombshell Rocks joined up on stage ending this show in just pure madness. Thank you millencolin, I'll be there on your 20 year anniversary! Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
yay! What the hell is with all you people that bitch about bands progressing in their style? If a band sounds the same for 10 years in a row it gets a little boring and it's not like Millencolin changed into some wannabe emo-punk band. They still kick ass, they just don't sound much like they have a ska influence anymore. you have to understand. this show was in sweden, the last time we had bad religion was 1998, and like half of the band wasn't withthem and was replaced with some other dudes. So seeing mr brett on stage was HUGE. millencolin was awesome in 1998. then they took a dastardly turn for the worse and abondoned their 'softcore' style and tried to be swedish rockstar weiners. whatever, the collection, life on a plate, and same old tunes are some fucking great albums but i doubt the guys in the band would agree because they are now rockstars and the newest album sounded like creed on speed. terrible. i only liked the song about america sucking but it was buryed on side B. whacksack!!!! oh and i never got my interview way to break your arm drumass Millencollin and Mr.Brett live? there's really been a shitload of people who's been reading this, 3000 over a weekend, that's crazy. meh, some of their stuff is decent. don't really care for their new "rockstar" approach to everything these days. Way more than the Thrice, HWM, Co&Ca one even... It's suprising how many more people have read this review than the NUFAN one... No offense, I love Millencolin, and this review for that matter, it's just I didn't know they were that much more popular... kemp is by far the most boring millencolin song. i mean, even "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH" is better than that one. :). The only song I liked was Kemp. I liked the new album. This score is for it. I bet this show was awesome, it sounds like it was. I wish I had been there, great review man. whats with all you people who didnt like the new album. Sure it was a bit more rockier, and poppier, but it was still pretty decent. I wish I were Sweedish. Classic Millencolin Lyrics Millencolin are far too soppy Millencolin= Amazing i only saw one camera during the show and it was a handycam. sorry, no dvd. i really hope they put that show on DVD or something. Sounds like a really good show. I wish i could have seen it. simple plan covered Bad Religion? Oh for the love of christ... That was one kickass review. Very good job man, one of the best reviews of read on the site. The show sounds fucking badass too, I can't imagine what it was like being there. And fuck that guy from Simple Plan. Maybe he could sing but he can't anymore. Sounds like an amazing show. by the way, i would kill to hear "an elf and his zippo" live. The only ska song millencolin usually play is "vixen", btw. of course i meant that Pierre still sounds castrated, not nikola. the reviewer here. nice review and i'm a fan of millencolin..but....you DO realize that when you said anyone can sing american jesus, you were pretty much indirectly insulting greg graffin....but whatever....other than that nice review....i wish i could have been there. bahahahahahahahahahaha, simple plan That comment about Pierre was dumb dude. You may may not like Simple Plan but he can sing really well. When he was in Reset he could to. He is one of the few singers around who doesn't have their voice all done in the studio. HAHAHA Sounds like a great show. Wow, that sounded like an extremely kick ass show. It's cool that they actually played some of their ska songs (not that I don't like their punk ones). The only time I've seen these guys was at Warped Tour and they didn't play any (or maybe they only played one), because as they said, "Ska isn't cool anymore." They played here 8 times (Sydney), but I never wanted to see them, because of the rip-off ticket prices...I don't like Millencolin that much (Life on a plate was good), but this sounds like a fun show. |
