Buy this CD just for "Drunken Carthage."

No, seriously. That song alone is worth the 8 bucks Asian Man will ask you for this compact disc. It's the middle of the album. A centerpiece, if you will. A jammy slowcore song with all sorts of guitar effects, reminiscent of Built To Spill or Seam - go figure, since Soo Young Park from Seam is in this band.

Also in this band are Tobin Mori of Korea Girl, and Peter Nguyen of Total Shutdown. Together, they are Ee [pronounced as the letter "e"], and this album proves that they got this spacey jam rock thing down pat. Like I said, "Drunken Carthage" is the centerpiece of the album, with 4 proper songs surrounding it on each side. The album builds up with wave after wave of semi-instrumental jammy slowcore and reverbed post-rock mixed with pop song structure., peaks at the aforementioned "Drunken Carthage" [if Asian Man only offered this MP3 for download, you'd all know what I'm talking about], and then descends over the next four tracks with the same formula of semi-instrumental jammy slowcore and reverbed post-rock mixed with pop song structure.

This review is pretty short. That's because there really isn't much else to say. If you like Seam, buy this. If you like Built To Spill, buy this. If you like Hum, buy this. If you like CDs that have 60-some hidden tracks, buy this. It's a very solid CD, and it's great for spacing out. I've been doing it all day.

che chou of Electronic Gaming Monthly plays bass in this. I just felt bad for the guy cause all his band mates get name dropped. Plus he writes good video game reviews (or used to).

Damn, you're right, I never thought of that.

And you're right, Lullaby was a bunch better than Invisible Monsters - I just could not get into that book to save my life. It took me *forever* to finish, while all his other ones I read in a few days.

That’s for Lullaby. I thought it was all right. It was better than monsters. Question though, why is there either a road trip or a cross-country trip in all of Chuck's books?

Oh Scott , youre so smart.

Dude, this 10 is for your username! Tender Branson, represent! "Survivor" is Palahnuik's best book...

Have you read "Lullaby" yet? I thought it was great up until chapter 16, then it went straight to shit.

Haven't listened to the album. The 10 is for the great Hum props. I thought I was the only one left that remembered them.

I was wondering how to pronounce the band's name.

nice, i've been wondering what the seam frontman was up to now, if anything. kudos on the short review, if i wanted to read a meaninglessly drawn out, madeupgenremafied review by some dickfuck blowhard i would have subscribed to rollingspinstone by now.

I am in love with this album and band. I love falling asleep to it. Good call on the Seam reference.
