H2O used to rule. I remember when I got "Thicker Than Water" from Epitaph when it first came out, and I was blown away. I played that album nonstop, dubbed it for my car tape deck, saw the band live on the Warped Tour, bought their back catalog, and all was well. Then "F.T.T.W." came out, and I wasn't as much of a fan. The hardcore seemed to be on a downturn, although the album still packed one hell of a punch. Please login or register to post comments. to the poster below me: What the fuck is wrong with all of you???? Just because H2O is on MCA doesn't mean they sold out. If they are sellouts for that, that means that the Sex Pistols were sellouts in '77, The Clash were sellouts and the Ramones were sellouts because they were on Sire recods which is Warner Bros. So fuck that shit. shit man... imagine if toby h2o sees these comments, along with other comments on other msg boards on the internet about how crappy they are now. i'm sure that guy's gonna cry a fucking river. what the feck?!?! h2o? more like h2crapass... i saw these guys about twenty times before fttw came out and was never disappointed once. and they were good guys. i got to meet them on st. marks one day as they were out handing out their own flyers. how d.i.y. is that?!?! sure they were always a better live band then in the studio but that's not to say thier first two albums weren't good either. but go??? i mean i could care less if it was on a major label, it just plain sucked. they should go back to playing "my love is real", now that was some sick shit. Can these guys actually say their making more money now that their on mca? Comparing any of these songs to "The World" is pathetic, "The World" is a good song, these suck. Oh- Speaking of $6.99--- I paid $6.99 for it, and regret it. The album doesn't fire me up like their older stuff. I have lost ALL of my faith in H2O. Don't get me wrong, Toby is one hell of a guy, as is Todd, Todd, Rusty and Adam. But last night I went and saw them live, for my fifth and last time. I payed 25 bucks just to see them and boy did it suck. I mean there live sound has changed ALOT. It went from fast and aggressive to happy and poppy. I guess you could liken it to an aggressive New Found Glory or something. Anyways it's too bad. Ohhh and in the song "Well behaved" instead of singin "I miss death and glory" they said "I missed new found glory" and all of the girls up front screamed there head off. I left in the middle of the set. Mark my word, The Boxcar racer/H2O tour is the WORST tour of the year. EASILY!! I actually like Go! It's definately more radio friendly than their earlier stuff but it's alright. F.T.T.W. is my fav cd by them though. It just sucks that h2o did exactly what they preached against. They sold out. h2o's first self-titled album on Blackout! Records was the best most ground breakin CD i had ever heard when i was 16. I listened to it everyday for over a year. Its still in my top 10 of all time list. if i choose between this crap and a sum 41 piece of crap cd, i'd choose the sum 41 piece of crap. is there a worse song than "I want I want"? personally, "f.t.t.w" was my favorite h2o album. contrary to the review, i think it has a whole lot of energy. however, "go!" sucks ass, with the exception of, perhaps, one or two songs. i have not heard the new e.p., but now i really have no urge to get it. god, you people are pathetic ... let them sell out in peace for fuck's sake. they made some great albums ... let it go ... it's over ... like hardcore scott, NaCl sucks. i think NaOH would be so much more kick ass. this record fucking sucks I think we should just call ourselves salt I just got the idea to form an H2O cover band and call it NaCl. bono ....now i dont like bono, but i don't see why your sorry asses have to say a rockstar should go help out people in another country .....why is that a rock star's responsibility??? Im pretty sure they're dead. i think i'd be done.....i mean, if they move to another label, and they make better songs, they'd be fun to listen to sure, but this shit would be in the back of my head, it could never be the same question to you all. we all know h2o is going down the toilet and is already on its way to the sewage plant. but let's say, they get off the major label, and come back with another fttw. would you guys come back to h2o as well? or are you already done with h2o and wouldn't give a shit what they put out. it seems to me, reading these comments, a lot of you still have a glimmer of hope for h2o. Deplorable. Absolutely without redeeming value. *sighs* the live songs don't sound like what I seen (and heard) of them. The new songs are trash, and they've eiether forgotten their roots or an exec took the real songs and had Jive produce them. I just saw this for a buck and I passed it up. Perhaps an overlooked quippism from a few posts below, Bono wears clothes costing a lot more than $300. i just got back from the boxcar racer/h2o/used show. my god it was pathetic. i mean, h2o is still a great live act, no doubt about it. but i'll sum up the night when toby asked the 13 year old blink-boxcar loving pre-pubescent crowd if anyone had their album fttw . . . i think i was one of the dozen or so people who raised their hands out of the crowd of 1000. toby kept having to rile up the crowd. sadly, it has come down to toby needing to constantly during their set clapping his hands vigorously to wake the crowd up. h2o needs to wake the fuck up, get off this fucking major label, and save some face as if they haven't lost a lot already. i really don't have a problem with the bands they tour with. i have more of a problem with their sound which sounds like nfg right now. everyone who is making U2 comments is gay because these posts are about H2O not old men Let's hope, that the new cd will be better! If Bono actually DID do something I'd like him, but he doesn't, he's a fake......like George Bush, they are both fakes. Haven't heard this release, but I doubt I will like it if it is anything similar to GO!. I will tell you how the songs sound live though, I am seeing them in about a week with TBS. I'm really suprised at how strongly most of you guys feel about H20 changing their style.. I guess ska kids feel that way every day! This EP should come with one of those labels you find on food products stating that if it's not guarantee to rock one of your socks off, to return it for a refund. Excuse me, but I'm going to listen to F.T.T.W. and remember the good times. Ugh, that's all I can say. Warzone in nyhc - not H2O. hehe, little know it alls talking shit about bono, who goes global, bringing awareness to issues such as 3rd world debt. fuck you little assholes. what exactly have you done lately for 3rd world countires in debt? nothing right? thought so. Bono is doing a lot more than you'd expect. He is more than talk. He acts on what he believes on. He's not superman, but he does what he can and he does it with heart. More than the average reader or person would do if they could, most likely. I agree, U2 are a bunch of fakes, hell, Bono is probably a fucking government agent. If you really wanna help people, help them grow food or build them some homes, which they really need, rather then "saying" you care. Actions speak louder than words Mr. Bono. Anyhoo, this was for the guy below. I'm Out!!!! U2 sucks. If only Bono were serious about helping people, rather than a fake, who goes to Africa in his $300 clothes and poses with the locals pretending he cares, if he cared he'd live with them for a few months without his "crew" and I bet he'd change a lot, that would help a lot more than "posing". He'd probably die. Anyway, this was for the guy who said that U2 was so great. Also, H2O has gone downhill for a long time. The last thing they did that I liked was their cover of "Nazi Punks Fuck Off!", and that was way back in 1998, so they have basically become a much more talenmted version of New Found Glory, which still sucks. Toby can eat my ass. Lou for SOIA would fuck him up in a fight toby said all that bullshit about not selling out back in the day and he preached straight edge i gave that up the day they signed to Mca have not heard the cd but how is your band doing? I saw them and they covered "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2.....there are some things you just aren't supposed to do. Thats like a rookie wearing #99 in the NHL or someone on the Chicago Bulls trying to wear #23. I left the show. what a shame, H2O used to be such a good band. I bought the EP at a show. It's censored. h2o is seriously one of the biggest examples of selling out. this cd fucking sucks donkey dick fuck all u calling h2o sellouts H2O.... argh, I cant hate them. They were good.. amazing even. H2O was always one of those bands you'd expect to hear in a "best show ever" conversation, the type of band whose logo people would get tattoos of. NYHC means something, and they embodied it. Yeah, its sad how H2O has gone downhill. I never really heard much of them before warped 01, but I liked what I heard. I saw them live and thought they kicked ass, so I went and bought Go... I was never so disapointed in an album ever, and this EP doesn't sound alot better. mine was edited too by the way... forgot to put that in the last one i've lost 95% of the faith i once had in this band... it really pains me to see a band that you hae such a sentimental attachment to get so shitty i'd still like to know if they edited all the copies, or just the press ones.....because wow, if they did.... to the person below::: h2o toured with blink-182 in '97 too. I'm a huge PW fan and "All We Want," aside from the first 5 seconds possibly being the same chord, sounds nothing like "The World." ***sings it like the first couple of lines of "5 Year Plan"*** I miss my h20. Still a great live show, some people complain about the "new" fans bit I enjoy a little floorpunching in front of these kids, and having them run out of the pit in fear. Mabey someday Toby will remove his head from his ass and bring true nyhc back ..eh Liberate? i was a fan since '97 and every album went a little downhill. after GO came out, i vowed to never buy anything from h2o again(i didnt buy go, i just borrowed it and thought it sucked) ya, my review this read pretty much that same. I didnt mention it but Im totally with you on the first song sounding like Pennywise. Im so glad I didnt buy this cause I will NEVER take it out of its case again. And mine came edited too, so either its just the press copies or they are all like it. "To add insult to injury, MCA bleeped out the swear words on the live tracks! I'm not some huge advocate for swearing or something, but c'mon, H2O - stand up for yourselves against MCA before the label completely ruins you!" Alright, I dont know too much about H20 but I happened to hear this CD and it was really bad. I don't undrstand why they where ever considered a NYC Hardcore band in the first place. I'm a huge Sick of it All fan and I will admit that their latest stuff is not up to par, but at least it has a little more sincerity going for it. i do agree with just about everyone says, i mean i dont think go is terrible or all we waant is terrible its just that when you compare to the kick ass older stuff, it really doestn hold. i mean i saw them at the box car show and and the newer stuff if better live, and hearing guilty by association with freddie madball coming out and singing his part was just awesome. but in the end i will not give up on h2o, ill stick with them to the end, i look at this like a marriage, its for better or worst, and right now were going through a rough patch, so just gotta stick out for a while, and hopefully everything will work out. so yeah anyway i still think h2o is the shit When will H2O wise up. The new cds are to poppy for old fans, while the live show is still to heavy to win over the NFG, Boxcar Racer fans that are seeing them live. What I'm hoping is that MCA will drop them & H2O, realizing the error of their ways, would go back & put out a cd with some balls ala s/t, Thicker Than Water. i haven't heard it, but after hearing go, i'll just assume it sucks.....what the hell h2o? H2O... sigh... for some stupid reason I still have faith that they'll turn around and remember who they were. I saw these guys at warped 01.....and they seemed like a great band painfully trying to brcome a terrible "new found glory"ish band, what a shame. vice-in-the-nuts or nuts-in-the-vice? FTTW was so good, even the poppy stuff was great, but Go was horrible. They had such a huge fanbase after FTTW that just ignored go, myself included. sadly, the last time these guys came here (pitssburgh) there was like no one there.does anyone respectthese guys anymore? i mean they rule live, but if i was ever lame enough to call a band sellouts, it think h20 would be that band.ehhh. "Bleeped out the swear words on the live tracks??? Damn!! That sounds so lame... |
