Dolour / Plain White T's / SereneDolour/Plain White T's/Serene: live in Seattlelive in Seattle (2002)Fearless Records Reviewer Rating: 5 User Rating: Contributed by: Katie4213Katie4213 (others by this writer | submit your own) Just this fall I moved to Seattle from my home in Chicago to begin school at UW. Just this fall I moved to Seattle from my home in Chicago to begin school at UW. When I heard the Plain White T's were going to play a show here I had to go, if not to see a great show, then to be reminded of home (I used to see the T's all the time in the Chicago area). I am so glad I went to the show, not just because I saw and awesome set by the T's, but because I was introduced to two great bands, Serene and Dolour. Dolour was amazing and if you are looking for some new music, I would give them one of my highest recommendations. They may work hard, but they hardly had a following outside of the lucky boys confusion crowd. i'm confused, i live about 20 minutes from grove city PA and i have never once heard of serene... and i'm not trying to sound like a scenester or anything, it's mostly just cause western pa doesn't have a real big music scene, but i know most of the bands from around here... ohwell the plain white t's not deserving it?? now that is just a matter of opinion. if you knew the band and how hard they worked, then you would know the do deserve it. but chicago does have and amazing amount of bands that deserve much recognition The plain white t's don't deserve it as much as a lot of bands in Chicago. i was going to go to this show. shoot. the paradox rocks the part. too bad its closing down soon. good review. The plain white t's are terribly annoying, and quite awful. When I see them play, I get a toothache. awesome!! shane is a really nice guy and dolour is rad!! i love their new album suburbiac. you should check out their earlier album Waiting for a World War also. good stuff. Also look out for other seattle bands like Wonderful, Rockstar Crush (headed by dolour's trumpet player), and U.S.E. (United State of Electronica - who freaking rock! It is instant party music in the vein of daft punk) |
