Well, it's on clear red vinyl, so that already makes this release cool. Sidecar, from Cleveland, Ohio, contribute 2 melodic punk songs, with the standout being "Solo" (which is also the standout of the whole 7"). After seeing Sidecar live, it's hard to go back to a studio recording, because for some reason, every song I've heard by them on a release, it sounds like the singer (who is also the drummer) is... Well, it just sounds like there's something up his ass. Live, it's different, though, and I recommend everyone to check them out for a rockin' live show. Trigger Happy, on the B side, follow through with the catchy melodies, cranking out two diddies of their own. neither stick out in my mind that much, but the songs are solid, with your basic verse/chorus/verse/chorus/instrumental verse/slowdown. If that makes no sense to you, just put on almost any Fat/Epitaph release and you'll know what I'm talking about. Anyways, if you're one of those people who are into melodic punk and are always looking for a new band to obsess over, try this 7". I too live in Cleveland and have seen Sidecar live... I saw in an add for the Blind Lemon once that it said they were "better than Ataris and Blink" so I asked a guy in the band why it said that and he said he has no idea, the club wrote the ad and the band thought it was stupid. The other thing is that they are super talented and sound great live... the guitar players are SO GOOD! And a drummer who sings, and does both the singing and drumming better than most crappy singers and drummers... I'm blabbering, just listen for yourself. Seeing as how I live in Cleveland and am into what they call the "punk scene" here I will say Sidecar sucks really bad live. I wouldn't bother to buy an album, my friend did and I told him that it was going to suck and guess what he told me, IT DID. They go around saying they are better than the ataris and blink 182 but my penis has more talent than those three bands. Doesn't anyone have anything to add other than a review written over a year ago about this? I personally dig it. The Trigger Happy songs, while old ones (Judas and Meathook) are WAY better than the old versions. A bigger beefier sound and a better recording. Sidecar rules. Simply put. If you don't have All Those Opposed yet, you are a moron. Go get it. Quit reading............Are you still here? what did I tell you? | Features
