It has been almost a decade since this Seattle band released their first full length album but since I have yet to find a solid review anywhere of this amazing disk, now is as good a time as any to write one. From the little information I could find on the band, I do know that they were formed in 1991 by frontman and principle songwriter Ben London after he moved to the Northwest from Ohio. It should be noted that this album came out in a time when bands like Alice in Chains were still kings of the Seattle scene and melodic punk had yet to really break out. Even the majority of small all-ages shows in the area were swarmed with flannel and long hair, so it was rare to hear a band like this during that time. Please login or register to post comments. Anyone remember the movie Brainscan? That's where i first here these guys...hooked since This is one of my favorite bands. Their follow up "weasels" is a great album as well. Its a bit slower, but great songwriting! For those who care, Ben London's new band is called Sanford Arms. Its kind of a cross between Elliot Smith and Wilco. You guys should check it out. Its a good cd, though I prefer Alcohol Funnycar. Its like Donut Express or some crap... what are they changing their name too? How come all the Dunkin Donuts are changing their name, were they boughtout? it must be illegal to be bad if you have such a great bandname and albumname. The band name is killer. That album cover picture is way too big!! Please get a smaller one! you just made me feel very very old...now I have to go back into the stack and listen to this again... haha, that band name is fucking champ alcohol funnycar was awesome. a couple of the guys went on to play in a power-pop / indie band called Pop Sickle...also a very very good band. Never heard em, but the band name and album title have to be the best I've seen. |
