This is arguable the best Pennywise album ever recorded. I know that some people hail "About Time" as Pennywise at it's best, but there are several factors that differ from "About Time" that make "Full Circle" a much better album.

Musically, this is classic Pennywise. Fast, agressive, hints of metal-influenced soloing, minor-threat like riffs. But what sets this album apart from the rest is that of the death of Jason Matthew Thirsk. The band as people and musicians matured, which enabled them to hone in on the music on "Full Circle."

This seems to be a much darker album when compared with albums and gives the sound a heavier feel. The melodic elements really stand out on this album with tracks like "Date With Destiny", "Broken", and the clear standout track, "Bro Hymn Tribute." In terms of Jim's lyrical attack is much more sophisticated, much fits nicely into the music.

This album made Pennywise rethink their roots, retrace their origin, and produce one of the best albums in the late 90's and their best album ever.

Dude, this record is awesome!!! not a single song i don't like. even the shorter songs like "Final Day" and "Go Away" are memorable, not to mention the awesomeness of songs like "Every time" and "Nowhere Fast". and the Live track/Piano solo is a great way to close it.

i have the re-issue and it rocks!! even though the original is 10 years old. "Fight Till You Die" "Get A Life" and "Nowhere Fast" are the best songs.

Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut are two completely different bands with a totally different sound for each. Bad Astronaut is more melodically experimental and folky and strays from the whole "punk" genre while Lagwagon is melodic skate punk with pop and metal influences. The only thing comparable about them is Joey, yet he doesn't sing in the same style.

The problem with what you're saying is that you're wrong. Pennywise does have atleast 3 or 4 albums that are recycled. How many songs about fighting someone or something and doing what you want can one band have? I'm mainly refering to the last few I guess. Sure, bands do use the same stuff but not to the extent that PW does. They actually just get worse as time goes on.

    My Score:

I don't like Pennywise, but I will comment to all these riddiclous replies.

Pennywise doesn't sound like Black Flag or Bad Religion.

Sure they(pw) have produced similar sounding material for most of their career, but WHAT PUNK BAND HASN'T DONE THIS???

Lagwagon is okay I guess, but Bad Astronaut is head and shoulders above Lagwagon. Bad Astronaut written much better and execute with precision and emotion.

And lastly the best Fat Wreck Chords band is one of these three: RISE AGAINST, DILLINGER FOUR or AVAIL.

yeah PW sounds mostly like Bad Religion...this album is pretty rad though. Fight til you die is the coolest song on here. Society and Bro Hymn are good too. but it's true I guess, if you've heard one PW album, you've heard them all. Oh yeah best fat band = STRUNG OUT

I know it's been said before, but even though I like PW to an extent, this is literally the same thing as most of there albums. I'd say it's mainly the lyrics and the guitar. The guitar riffs are constantly recycled, not all the songs, but a majority of them are the same 8 chords.

"did u really" is an awesome song about death. man that sounded dumb. but yea, broken, fight...,date w/ destiny are all great. it has its duds, but so does every PW album. classic Punk album, in my top 20, one of the first punk cd's i got (actually got it when it was a new release, summer 97 when i got into punk)so i guess thats part of why i think it kicks ass.

First off, I'll start by commenting about the person below me: Why the fuck are you sharing your two cents if you haven't even heard the record? You idiot.

Secondly, this release really needs no description, and only one thing really needs to be said about it: I can't think of any other punk band (with the exception of The Lawrence Arms) that can put out an album that's near perfection right after they've overcome a huge obstacle.

This album is sick, and it's definitely one of the best punk albums to be released in the 1990's, and definitely the best release of this band's career (although "About Time (1995)" gives it a bit of a run).

Lets right some harder, more metallic black flag songs, make every chorus something about fighting an unknown something, then talk about how we make make albums for political activists. Then we can go on the warped tour and sell it to our 'political activists" fans. You know there activist cause there at an event that is directly sponsored by fuckin Target and Levi's. Oh yeah. Gotta love these guys. Who the fuck are they so against anyway? They should make that a tad bit more clear in half their albums, instead of just shouting shit like "WE GOTTA FIGHT THEM!!!" Poor guys have been releasing the same album for at least ten years. Admittedly it's a pretty good album, but just changing throwing something different into the mix each time would have made them a far more memorable band. Although, while NoFx has become boring-as-all-hell to see live (Mike doesn't even try anymore), Pennywise still tears it up (at least for the first few songs, until they all begin to sound like one collective song...). Sounds like since all of sudden they're gaining popularity it is the trendy thing to hate them, the responses weren't this negative a year ago. and if your worried about them sounding too much like br, black flag, or even minor threat, you might as well go tell it to a wall. if youve ever been to a pennywise show, they encourage people to listen too the afformentioned groups, becuase they are of course some of their major inspirations. whats so bad about that?

Bro hymn is a terrible song. And the fact that it plays in every dance club between some Pink and JLo provos it.

Pennywise sucks and Full Circle is their worst album.

You were correct in your assumption. Pennywise sucks. Their music is dumb and ugly sounding. Not ugly in a shocking way, just shitty. How does hating a band most people like make me trendy? Fuck you!

I love this album, some of the songs are straight up hardcore ("Fight Till You Die", "Final Day") and others are melodic ("Date With Destiny", "Did You Really?"). I think the song "Did You Really?" is very gut wrenching, Jim seems really depressed and angry at the same time. Great album. I'm sure all of the trendy "Pennywise haters" will comment now.
