District 7 is a band that might have released the best album of 2002. District 7 is a melodic punk band from Canada. Canada has brought us such great melodic punk bands as Reset, Belvedere, Downway, and Twenty2. If you like any of the aforementioned bands then this album will not disappoint.

District 7 plays a brand of fast melodic skate punk. This is there first effort, “Another Last Chance”, released by Lame*** Records. This CD is filled with fast guitar riffs and catchy choruses. The singer’s voice is a little high pitched and usually wouldn’t go with this type of music but for some reason his voice fits all too perfect.

The CD starts off with the song, “All Time Low.” This song is easily one of the best tracks on the CD. It delivers a message to try your hardest and not to take the easy way out and kill yourself, “Well maybe there’s a better way. Before you let it go, there’s one thing you should know. You’ve got so much to offer. Why would you want to throw it all away? Ready or not I’m here for you.”

The CD delivers a lot of positive messages and also some political messages as well. Some of the better songs on the CD are, “Price of Perfection”, “Yield”, “Believe”, and “Restart”. The only song that isn’t that great is the title track “Another Last Chance”. The song starts off a little faster then the other songs but this only last for about thirty seconds then they repeat the same line, “One last chance until it’s over” about 20 times. The last track on this CD is called, “One Last Song”. This song is a stab at the conventional pop-punk you would hear on the radio. Some of the lyrics to this song are, “Change my file, change my style and just say it’s ok. Chances are I’ll watch the stars from my bedroom window. I’ll point out satellites and kiss that girl tonight.” I found the song quite amusing. If District 7 keeps going in the direction they’re going they will surely blow the melodic punk scene away.

    My Score:

I'm Canadian and I've always had troubles finding north american bands with a good sound. D7 has potenial from the few songs I've heard, but not "top album of 2002"... I would say their music to come will be much better. I like the singers voice and agree it fits well with the music but he needs to be louder. Check them out if your Canadian, if not don't bother, we don't want to hear how canada sucks because you don't like how this band sucks. We all know how many little george bush bigots there are in the states.

To all the people blaming the Canadians in their reviews just one thing: Never visit a punk-Website again in your life until you stop being a N**i!

    My Score:

Amazing Album for an underground punk band. Standout songs are All Time Low, Beyond The Shadows, Delayed Regrets and Beached Male. They have fast skate punk mixed with melodic vocals, complex progressions and awesome catchyness. If you ever get the chance to pick up this album or go see this band live you gotta do it! I saw these guys June 2002 and I'm going to see them again tonight. They put on one hell of a show which backs up this totally wickid cd.

    My Score:

This album is sooo fucking good...I get chills everytime I hear their song "restart"...it's just fucking amazing!! The singers voice is awesome and blends in perfectly with the style of muscic they play, very original...."20 days" is about 3 years old so don't base this cd on that song...www.mp3.com has their new stuff on it so listen to it before talking shit...and making fun of the album cover is just lame and pathetic and immature. like honestly, the cover doesn't matter(even though it's great!) because the music inside is just fucking incredible!!

    My Score:

i agree with both sides on this one...
i don't really like the album cover cause it's pretty cheesy, though i will admit, it is good artwork.
but this band is pretty fucking good. fast melodic hardcore. or skatepunk, or whateevr the fuck you decide to call it, it's still really good... try downloading songs that are actually on this album, 20 days is like three years old.

this band has sooo much fucking talemt it's insane!!! Like the other guy said, don't judge this band on their old stuff like "20 days" go to www.mp3.com and look them up..they have some songs from this cd, 'Another Last Chance', on it! I know there are a few Americas who give this band a bad review just because they are angry that Canadian punk is amazing and American punk, althoguh mainly good, needs work...this is Melodic Skate Punk at it's absolute best...this has to be the best album of 2002!!

    My Score:

d7 is fucking great!!! canadian punk is unique and fucking awesome...and don't judge this cd based on their songs like "20 days" because this cd is waaaaay more melodic and shit...and no bag-piper this time around! listen to a song from this cd before making an ass of yourself...jerk asses.

    My Score:

Never heard them, and really don't care to. From all that I've read, they sound exactly like every other pop punk band out there, and I've got my share of bands to fill that hole. Not to mention that I never knew cover art could get that cheesy. So maybe I'm missing out on something really good, but I think that I'll pass without further thought. Goodnight all.

    My Score:

You might think that the cover looks cheesy for a punk band but its still great artwork. www.mp3.com/districtseven go listen to them.

    My Score:

I can't get over how fucking terrible the cover looks! I mean these guys could be the greatest band ever but I'd never know because it makes me cringe when I look at the cover. It gives me no urge whatsoever to listen to these guys(not to mention the shitty review, but whatever).
The "D7" thing reminds me of D12, further repulsing me.

This cd is rad. My favorite songs on the album are yield, believe, price of perfection and all time low. If you can get your hands on a copy I strongly suggest it.

My taste in musical arts suck? Your attempt at sounding fancy and intellectual sucks. So you dont like this band..big deal. The music sounds pretty good. The singing is a little weak but you have to admit these guys are pretty good at their instruments. I understand completely if you prefer the new Christina Aguilera album, thats fine. You have your opinion, I'll have mine.

HEY! Canada has apologized for celine Dion, and The USA is to blame for Nickleback, since they wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Creed.

    Distrct 7 sucks ass.

not very good. and that is a surprise considering they're from canada and canada's only contributions to society so far have been sum 41, avril, alanis morrisette, celine dion, and nickelback.

What a bad review. Read the first paragraph out loud and see what I mean. And this line made me laugh out loud: "This song is easily one of the best tracks on the CD. It delivers a message to try your hardest and not to take the easy way out and kill yourself"
