Wow I guess the Person who wrote this review is a Deaf Dick less Retard Cause I think it's there best Album...in my opinion tenwestchaser ure a bit off mark there. Yes , this album isnt bad , but if you can remember they have done it all before. County themes have been done in the likes of crew cut chuck and falling down sounds similar leaving. Everything they have done here has been done. Sure the songs arnt bad but if you have listened to every other caddies album then you can tell that this is really beginning to wear thin This album has some shibby reggae songs....but other songs like rockupation just kill it. I personally didnt think much of this album at first either, but then i actually decided to take a closer listen. i must have played the album over 5 times at least, and ive loved it ever since. its a welcome change from the cookie-cutter ska thats apparent in a lot of bands today This review deffinetly misses the mark...by about a mile. There is so much going on on this album that I don't see how anyone can say that it's just the same old caddies and nothing new or special. They tried their hand at so many different sounds and styles on this record I just don't see how you can say that! The title track is has an amazing new spanish sound, and "good intentions" has a country vibe just to name a few. This review fucking sucks. Score is for the review. this is there best album. The author doesnt appreciate the mad caddies sound, fuck it dude you must have had a truckload of sand in your vagina when you wrote this review. this a a solid album, why review it if you're tired of this kind of music? So are you suggesting they need to invent a new genre with every song? Just because two songs are "mellow ska" doesn't mean they are the same song. love this cd. Maybe they don't bring anything new, but they don't need to. This CD is awsome, the best since Duck and Cover. Love it. My second favourite MC release. first being D&C, although I really like QSC as well. RTP was pretty poor. Drinkin for 11 is my favorite Mad Caddies song, for some reason it really connects with my life. you're not worthy to be called a reviewer. Yeah, when I first read part of this review I did not know what album Scott was referring to since I knew that "Just One More" is probably my favorite and IMO he best Mad Caddies offering. Nothing new? Yeah I guess there is a lot of good music already out there. Who needs more right? I wish the people who bitch about stuff being "done before" and "good but passe'" would apply that nuevo retard shit to what they eat and starve to death because "didn't that restaurant serve chicken the other day?". Good is Good man. scott.. how many dicks do u suck a day man?? like 4.. 5? punk news should have been smart enough to scrap this piece of shit review. I wont be taking advice from punk news again. scott.. how many dicks do u suck a day man?? like 4.. 5? punk news should have been smart enough to scrap this piece of shit review. I wont be taking advice from punk news again. Scott obviously needs to go back to literachure school for a few years.. i have never read such a crock of shit in my life. Scott you Emo cunt, you asked if we would like you to write a good review so the caddies can sell a few more albums.. no we wouldnt and im sure the caddies wouldnt either because any1 that has read your interview would never take advice from you again you fukn dipshit. Why didnt you interview Chuck? Is it that you didnt have the balls to do it or is it that you knew when chuck questioned your review you would have no educated replies. This album is Fukn amazing!! see for urself it'll be the best $10-$15 bucks you ever spend. this review just doesnt deserve to be online! the review is awful. since when have the caddies done latin-influenced ballads like Just One More? or slick popska like Rockupation? or taking a slow country tune and turning it into a fucking gem like Good Intentions? very nice! better than only 2 stars! :-) Scott, you are a tool. This album is badass. I like how the Mad Caddies have there own style and all these songs rip. Drinking for 11 is one of the caddies best songs. Buy this Cd it's worth it. I dont think i have read a review more wrong than this. The new CD Just One More is amazing. I think it definitely compares to duck & cover and everything else. I love it. It may be my fav. caddies song. So NO ONE LISTEN TO THIS REVIEW. If you remotely like the Caddies you'll love this CD. I totally disagrre witht he review. This is a great CD, I have all their others and this one stands up on its own. Check it out, check them out live too i really liked this cd. the caddies are an original band playing like they like to. caddies suck now This review is fucking lame, this guy should just quit, the caddies rule. ok the guy or girl who ever did this review is fucking lame, you don't know dick all about ska then. The Mad Caddies are still by far one of the best ska bands around this album fucking rocks. It looks to me that this reviewer did give the album much of a chance just kind of put it in his cd player then masterbaited to some porn on the net then remembered about the cd and then wrote this bad review. and i think a lot of ppl agree with me. well ne who this album kicks ass mad caddies fucking rock! My personal opinion is that, this is by far, the best mad caddies cd released. Dirty little billy loves the new lp, p. S. Scott go smoke a fat cock Scott, you halfassed motherfucker, can't you do some decent reviews. My god man, have you even listened to the album? seen them live? I don't know what your prob seems to be my man, but it seems you need to pull that head of yours out of your ass. Maybe then you'll hear that their cd is awesome, you emo cocksucking dick! cheerio This record kicks ass, probably the best ska record of 2003! A- What did you think of the review on punknews.org for it? this review sucks...Just One More is the best Mad Caddies album by far. Where have we heard songs like "Good Intentions" and "Rockupation"?? Where have we heard salsa hints like in the song "Just One More"?? This album is absolutely insane, "Drinking For 11" is a masterpiece, as well as "10 West" and "Wet Dog". THIS CD BLOWS ME AWAY. END OF STORY> http://www.dfbpunk.com/modules.php?name=Reviews&rop=showcontent& id=773 >>"Rock The Plank," was unmemorable at best. I don't know if the reviewer is listening to the same CD I am. Maybe it sounds muffled when your head is up your ass. DuDE! THat show at Slims was incredible, Mad Caddies own. I love these guys and I don't agree with this review at all...but to each their own. This is a great album. I saw them recently at slims and they were on fire! i like this cd it's just bounces around to much they tried to much to soon maybe next time we'll get another duck and cover find me another that even attempts the same musical style as the mad caddies and then maybe i'll listen to your complaints about "lack of originality". Wankers. well said man below me, well said..... I got into punk because of albums like this. I'll admit, my main music of choice is reggae and I started listening to punk when I was exploring bands that mixed reggae and punk together. Nowadays I love a lot of punk bands, but honestly, I'm probably not as die hard about it as a lot of you on this site. That being said, for me, this album is brilliant and I think it's the best thing they've done to date. I think a lot of other ska fans will be quite pleased that there are still bands like this not ashamed to put out this kind of music. On the other hand, if you're more into the traditional punk sound, you probably won't get that much out of this. That's just my opinion of course. Also, this review may not be the most "in-depth" discussion of the cd, but I won't knock Scott for it because he got his point across well. I disagree with him, but it's not going to lessen my enjoyment of the album because someone else slammed it. ya i noticed too when i saw them they played the gentleman real slow... but course they chaned it up a lot too... u can't always play a song exactly the same for 5 years it gets boring... they were still fun and good pretty good cd. i mean its always cool to hear ska these days if you were ever a ska fan, cuz its few and far between now. but when they lost carter they lost 1/3 their songwriting. and it shows. cater wrote some of their best songs, including 'booze cruise' and 'we'll start to worry when the cynics..' two of the better songs on the last album. however this album still has some great songs (drinking for 11, leavin, 10 west) but overall i think its weaker than the last couple (except quality softcore, which i never albums really liked save a few songs). this album is great! "They played a lot of their songs slower and the lack of a second guitarist really shows." why are some reviews in bold? Its obvious the guy who wrote the review has not matured with the Caddies. The Caddies have evolved and created a type of music that cannot be clearly classified in any category. I have to go now but the new album is a 10********* This CD is good, but I saw them live last night. They played a lot of their songs slower and the lack of a second guitarist really shows. This isn't a "good old days" complaint, just the truth. This cd is awesome. The only good song on Rock the Plank was "Mary Melody", the rest of the cd sucked. I was afraid to buy this thinking of rock the plank, but this cd is great! alot better than softcore and rock the plank and almost as good as duck and cover. BUy it! His positive reviews shit all over his negative reviews, take a look and see. These span judgement assholes make me sick, but this Cd is extremely fantastic! The lyrics hit home and it is better than "rock the plank", which apparently you clowns feel sucks...however the best song around is the All American BadAss...and if you seen them play it live then you rule more than the clowns that profess that their best album ever was before Duck and Cover... i like it a lot. thats my opinion- if you want to fuck with my opinion- then fuck you. people need to stop giving other people shit for THEIR opinions, goddamn, how can you take it scott? as for the cd, got it a few days ago, and all i can say right now is that its a lot better than rock the plank and not as good as duck and cover. ps, get the new cursive and cave in cds!!--emptycauses I'm still wondering why the reviews are in bold? To the anonymous poster 4 comments down: for the review. "it's ok to like a lot of different genres. My Favorite bands are Indian Summer, Mineral, Pedro The Lion, Christie Front Drive, Further Seems Forever, American Football, Death Cab For Cutie, Braid, and The White Octave...and I'm in a 7 piece skapunk band (www.thirdgradescuffle.com)" Scott seems as if he has a stick up his ass with every review. How come when bands tread new ground you call them sellouts and when they sound the same you say they've lost their "spark"? The fact of the matter is no matter how much the style is the same, these are DIFFERENT songs. This is the Caddies best album since Duck 'n Cover and may be their best period. Fuck off, Scott. This review is crap. The reviewer never liked the Mad Caddies to begin with! How can anyone actually acknowledge a review that is so biased?! In my opinion, "Just One More" may be the Caddies best release so far. I agree with carb. The only CD I would EVER give a 10 is Refused's "Shape of punk to come". Scott writes good reviews. He is impartial and gives a fair assessment of the band without letting his feelings for the band in the past get in the way. ehehe...that guy acts like 99% of the comments on this site aren't "this band sucks" or "this album sucks" No offense to you guys, but it seems to me everyone _but_ Scott writes 4 or 5 star reviews, because they'll only ever touch something they're in love with. Its decent. But not their greatest. But hey its on Fat Wreck, they kick ass! first i thought scott were a dick for writing this but then i went down and bought the cd and realized that he's 100% correct, there's not spark in this shit. "There's no spark, no energy, no sense of electricity present." Honestly, sickboi, that means a hell of a lot to me. Thanks. I've gotta say something. Scott, although we don't see eye to eye on music, have different tastes, and so on, I applaud you for your honest opinion. There are too many review web pages (Jordan Pastepunk I'm looking at you) that kiss way too much ass; either to keep getting free promos or to walk on eggshells not to affend. Fuck that. Scott, emo still blows, but thank you for keeping it real. this cd is bad ass. i like this stuff, and i dont care if its not original. and scott, your review sucks. After listening to the the horrible trash that is the new Ataris album, this record is a relief. I think it's awesome. I agree Quality soft core is their best album ... it has a lot to do with the recording I find. All Fat bands these days are getting this perfect ass recording sound and I find you don't get a feeling when you listen to it ! Your taste in music is horrid. You should be ashamed. First off, who cares if Scott likes emo and indie more now. You know, it's ok to like a lot of different genres. My Favorite bands are Indian Summer, Mineral, Pedro The Lion, Christie Front Drive, Further Seems Forever, American Football, Death Cab For Cutie, Braid, and The White Octave...and I'm in a 7 piece skapunk band (www.thirdgradescuffle.com) Get real people, I'm sure Scott still likes ska related stuff too, so please save your "shut up, emo fag" comments. Creativity is not a crime why is this, the punchline, and reggie review highlighted? I don't get why everyone digs this band so much. 'Duck and Cover' was cool because of the whole vaudville(sp) vibe, but I think they kinda sound redundant after a while. this review is horrible and you can tell it's biased. Very accurate review. Painfully so even...but I can't say I don't enjoy the caddies live, lots of energy and fun...good stage presence and quite skilled musicians. And Chuck does have kind of a brutish swagger...- bigjerk alllll right. this is one damn good album, and in my opinion QUITE the step up from rock the plank. this album is really the epitome of what the mad caddies have set out to become: a ska punk band with dixieland influences. those dixieland influences came through so strong with this album (ex: villains, Rockupation). all you critics, do one thing for me, go ahead and pull your heads out of your asses, it looks really uncomfortable. that is all. one time i moshed at a mad caddies show cause i was bored, true story. I for one, have to agree with everything Scott has said in this review. While I am not usually a fan of Scott's opinions or reviews in general, I'd have to say that I think he's right on with this one - because I understand exactly the way he feels. i think we all can agree that both emowussrock and scott suck ass. Scott; your review is shit, Wussemokid; your just a piece of shit. That review was quite shitty, not because I disagee, but just because all it really talked about was how the band hasn't progressed. If a band keeps playing music that they like (and sounds good in this case)....... why the fuck should they change? This album rocks. Not the best ever, but "Drinking for 11," "Rockupation," and "Last Breath" are all welcome Caddies additions. Yeah Scott, I'm agreeing with the popular sentiment here. Your reviews are for no one other than yourself and maybe your Rainer Maria loving buddies. Sure reviews are supposed to tell your own personal opinion, but it would be nice if they could also be for other people too. You know maybe saying something like "If you liked their first two albums, and didn't grow up to be an opinionated, indie rock loving, jack ass, you'll like this offering." Ok, I know now you'll tell me to write my own review, but I don't really have the time. how about no high five and a kick in the ass. I am back bitches. To the guy three comments down: I believe slow ska is called "Reggae"... just a thought... not a bad cd but not a great cd either, drinking for 11 is a rad song though... this cd rules. you said that the new afi sucks because they changed; and now you are saying that the mad caddies sucks because they didn't change. you contradict yourself in your reviews. lame. both of these cds are good. your review is balls. Gee you know what, i guess instead of ska they should jump into the pool of emo bands huh. fuck that, i disagree with your review completelly. This is a good cd to come out when most bands are dropping ska to fit in with whats popular. mad caddies in orlaaaando in less than 2 weeks....mustard plug a little over a week ago, this is great... I'll probably still buy this because I'm a Caddies fan even though Scott didn't like it. So his opinion differs from yours. Just write your own review of it and submit it. Maybe they'll put it up. you should un-post this review scott and think about writing another one. the hooks are all there, it is a good album. were you expecting this to be a totally different caddies? think of a new review..... Oh yeah, Scott the Caddies had already grown up by the time you were 16. This is just the music they enjoy...it doesn't have anything to do with aging. I think this is the first review by Scott that I have REALLY disagreed with completey. Well, it's true that Mad Caddies haven't evolved into super technical Math-Ska, but that just isn't who they are. They are about drinking and partying, which this album is perfect for both of those activites. I actually think this album is up there with Duck & Cover. Just my 2 cents. Yeah, I just saw Mad Caddies a week or so ago, they are just incredibly good live. Hearing Goleta, Days Away, Falling Down, and especially Mary Melody live is one of the first good things about this year. This band should only start to think about hangin it up if they're still playing the same record in 5 or so years. So far, they've still got some great music left in them, you just need to learn how to rock out with your cock out, Scott. 0 for this review. "The dixieland-influenced tracks have been done before. Basically, this band is all out of ideas. " what the hell? at least they manage to put out good music, who gives a fuck if its not different. not all music has to "mature." The Mad Caddies have an INCREDIBLE live show. One of the best I've seen, I would suggest it to just about anyone I'd rather listen to the Caddies play unoriginal songs in their style than any other band play a style that wasn't even original to begin with. What I'm trying to get at is: the Caddies rule, I don't care if this is a rehash, it rules. Although this album is not as great as Duck and Cover, it is still a high quality record that hasnt left my cd player since i got it. The Caddies are doing what they do best in this album, even if its all been done before couldn't agree more with the reviewer, "duck and cover" and "the holiday has been cancelled" are great discs, but "rock the plank" sucked aside from 2 or 3 songs and "just one more" didn't do anything for me. the reviewer is on crack ! If you're a Caddies fan buy this record, it's amazing ! It's got a great variety of songs from every style the band have experienced on the previous album. I've been a fan since Quality Softcore and this new record is probably my favorite with Duck and cover. I bought rock the plank, which pretty much sucked so I thought it would be fair if I got this one for free.. Hmmm. I'm likind the comments so far. Maybe I'll pick up this album, I was kinda scared after Rock the Plank... I'm all for people having their own opinions, but like, what the hell is this? You don't like the cd cause its not fresh, cause they sound just like... uhh, they sound just like this band that put out duck and cover. Yeah, bands should always progress and change their sound..... just like AFI, The Ataris, No Doubt. Then they'll be on a major in no time. I going to have to disagree with you maverick. I think this is better than "Rock The Plank." They said they were going back to their ska-reggae roots and they did. Besides I like the drinking theme a lot more than the pirate theme. Sure its no "Quality Softcore", and "Duck and Cover" but it's better than "Rock The Plank." Don't listen to him, this album is great, a mix of styles from Holyday and Duck & Cover, definitly worth checking out. i got this record for free from red and listened to it last night. one of the most obnoxious records ive ever heard! Good caddies album. And to say all the songs are the same and have been done is an incorrect statement. Are bands not allowed to have a 'sound' know adays? You expect bands to just start from scratch and come up with a whole style, bullshit. That's when the term 'sellout' is used. I can listen to this album all the way through with a big smile on my face. You can dislike an album, but don't use the excuse "it sounds too much like the band" mad caddies-eh, nothing special. average, middle of the road ska-punk rock. i saw them live, wasn't too impressed either. i didn't really like a lot of mad caddies stuff till i got this album. i really like this album, it's waay better than all their other stuff, they should keep on doing dub, i like it a lot ive gotta say scott, this album is very good indeed I long for the day when jade tree becomes old. If scott does not like it, then this must be good... Its the mad fuckin caddies,go listen to your polyvinyl shite scott -oldpunker- How lame is this? Christ, since when isn't someone allowed to not like an album? Atleast he provided an explantion as to why he didn't like it, unlike some the people who replied. "I mean, how played out is Dixieland Skapunk reggae core?" this is nothin new but pretty solid and much better than their last record. this is a great fucking album you fucking douche bag, never write a review you fuck tard! i will agree rock the plank kinda sucked. BUT FUCK YOU! Are you kidding me? This review is sooo full of shit! Reviewers here rip on bands that depart from their old sound and try "fresh ideas" and your rippin the Caddies for not being "fresh?" I mean, how played out is Dixieland Skapunk reggae core? Not at all! If this album went emocore, maybe you'd be happy then... This review sucks my hairy trucker nuts mother fucker Yeah, uh, fuck this review. Their songs are awesome, their horn section is the shit, Chuck rules and this band owns. Although Duck and Cover may have been better, i don't think that it should hinder this CD at all, its great. I thought Quality Softcore was by far their best offering... nice review. i also unfortunately agree with how you feel about the caddies. they lost their spark. I have to disagree. Mayybe you listen to too much emo now. I missed Rainer Maria for a ska show this week, though. |
