When I first heard Good Charlotte's hit song "Little Things" on the radio, I just knew I had to get the CD. I usually only buy CDs if I know two or three of the band's songs, but with Good Charlotte, I made an exception. I absolutely LOVED "Little Things," an awesome song about the low points of high school. I couldn't stop listening to it. When I finally got my hands on the CD, I was not dissapointed at all. I was blown away. I thought all the songs were extremely catchy and with a great alternative/punk/ska sound to it (except for "Change," the one song I didn't care for). The five best songs on the disc are "Little Things," "Waldorfworldwide," "Let Me Go" "I Don't Wanna Stop," and "Walk By." This CD will always be a classic to me. So many good memories of blasting it in the car in the summertime. The only good part of this album was when it was over. true punk is and always will be a political movement. these pop punk bands are frauds. just like Resistance records taking hard rock and using it to spread white nationalism, pop punk takes the punk image and style but any semblence of real punk ends there. the pop punk industry takes punk and neuters it of its power by taking lyrics and putting in generic lyrics about relationships. there were punk songs with such lyrics but they were few. instead of sing of change and anti racism and other causes, pop punk sings about girls and zits and cars. pop punk is an illusion used to rake in money. i wanted to shoot myself when a girl came up to me and said, "hey you listen to punk?" I went to Warped in Pompano Beach and saw Lars on stage just listening to Good Charlotte playing. It's not a big deal, but it was an interesting sight. I mean all these little Rancid kids are screaming "boo, Good Charlotte is on TV, therefore they are terrible" and Lars actually likes Good Charlotte. I am just sick and tired of people hating "pop/punk" simply because people like it. I wrote that shit about Lars and the guy from GC playing together. If youdon't like the album because you don't feel it that's cool. Rancid are friends with mostly everybody, from Green Day to Offspring. Does that make those bands hardcore? Now, as I look and listen to Good Charlotte right now. I realize, what makes them punk? I'm no "punker than thou" dude, but really....This has more in common with Third Eye Blind and Sugar Ray than with the likes of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Stooges or anything. They don't sound like a punk band, they don't look like a punk band, sure as hell don't act like punks. So why does everyone call them a punk band? There a pop-rock band. This album is a decent pop-rock album along the lines of (again) Sugar Ray or Third Eye Blind. So why are we even trying? Blondie wans't on the radio up until they started using disco, and it sucked. The Sex Pistols sucked, from begining to end, no doubt about it. The Ramones were never played on the radio. They don't even have a platinum record. The Clash weren't on the radio up until Combat Rock, an album no where on the same level as the first 3(which were ignored) Anway, music DOES NOT suck if it's on the radio, KROQ plays a lot of punk bands these days. This album is just totally unoriginal and boring, whether they were on MTV or not, this album would still be bland.
