Hmmm, where do I begin. Well the first thing that came to mind when I heard Greyfield’s CD Soundtrack To The Summer was pop-punk, incredibly pop-punk. Greyfield is a four piece band from Jacksonville Florida who has just finished their first CD. They have been together for a little over a year and are on Search and Rescue Records. I had never heard of them before, but I am sure with how the pop-punk scene is slowly taking over MTV and the radio, you may be seeing these guys in the future. they toured with Goldfinger, Riddlin' Kids, Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday and Yellowcard. Not just opened up for them in Jacksonville. Plus, they've been broken up for about 2 years now. Oh, and kids...don't bash something you've never heard before. It's bad manners. Go suck Rancid's dick or something. winnipeg scene is the best: I haven't heard this album, but I saw them open for Coheed and Cambria about a month ago, and they were pretty bad. Yeah, Dinkus 9 are fun guys. They stayed at my house for about 4 days back during their tour with Greyfield. Fun times had by all, I'd give details but the cops would come knockin on my door. Florida kind of has shitty scenes... I live in Gainesville though, and it's pretty cool. Mostly bands supporting bands and there aren't many venues, but there's a lot of different types of music going on here, and many of the local bands are tight as hell. Why do people always fucking have to rip on Florida anyway? Is the cover art supposed to be a ripoff of Seinfeld? Cause that was the first thing "Greyfield" made me think of. I'm glad Fueled By Ramen hasn't picked this band up. They've gone too far downhill within the last year or two as it is. Great comment on the Souls sickboi.... so true. I saw greyfield earlier this year, and was not impressed at all. If you're going to play stereotypical poppunk at least have some stage presence. However, they played w/ a ska/punk band called dinkus 9 who absolutely owned.... check them out sometime. The only real "Soundtrack to Summer" is the Bouncing Soul's "How I Spent My Summer Vacation". The Good Charlotte drummer is in Wakefield. Not Grayfield. and the AAA guy isn't in the band anymore if you were paying attention to punknews.org! His new band is on a major label. Weird how much he changed from Hopeless Records underground political punk rock to Sony Records alt punk rock. Who knows. "Wow. Florida must have the worst music scene out of any state in the country." isn't good charlotte's first drummer in this band don't forget other florida rock juggernauts like limp bizkit...have you ever wondered if there were any underground boy bands...i bet florida would have a killer scene Wow. Florida must have the worst music scene out of any state in the country. It's pop-punk, you either like the genre or you don't. Wow, one of their members is in AAA? That means if they ever suffer the broken-down-van plight that so many bands do, they can get a tow truck for free! Hopefully, though, the tow-truck driver will be the unstable, psychotic type, and he'll gut them all and eat their innards with a plastic Frosty spoon from Wendy's. His name would be Zeke, and he would be a hero to all you "real" punks out there. I would actually consider myself a pop-punk fan in general, but fucking ENOUGH already. These guys are the new Tora Tora. Kinda hard to see how one of their members is in AAA. Wow. Florida must have the worst music scene out of any state in the country. Kinda like if you were into Jazz or the Blues, would you give At The Drive In a good review? It's pop-punk, you either like the genre or you don't. I think the album is pretty good though if you are into that kind of music. Kinda like if you were into Jazz or the Blues, would you give At The Drive In a good review? If this relly is the soundtrack to my summer, I'm going to be really pissed. I like some Randy in the summer, but I'm all about chillin' out with some Hepcat myself. Gotta agree with hungryjoe there, Human atom bombs is sensational i've always thought Randy's "Human Atom Bombs" was the perfect soundrack to the summer. |
