If Scott Lucas from Local H thinks your band rocks like Slayer, the odds are good that you’ve got something going for you. In the case of St. Louis’ Sullen, it certainly does ring true. A male/female vocal combo leads this trio that absolutely blows any competition out of the water. The take the Midwestern tradition of ball out rock and create an album, “Paint the Moon,” that Thick Records should be proud to add to its catalog. Please login or register to post comments. Shanna is sexy....but she's got soul and angst your drummer sounds alot like Dave Grohl you guys blew us way Thing is no one has come out with this original sound yet. But they compare this band to so many other great bands. like a mixture of Nirvana and early Hole (but Shanna put the sexy, soft into the "no soul" Courtney) This is like the Local H situation. I like them, but I never really feel like listening to them. It is a reverse of how I felt with Eek The Cat, I never was much of a fan, however I have watched every episode. Though I would credit this factor more so to my losership. Yep, I just saw them last night in Iowa City and I was blown away, but you'll read more on that later I saw Sullen in Chicago last weekend (yes, with Local H) and they do bring the rock something fierce. is it just me or is sexy the new adjective to describe music. if you need me, I'll be listening to the Divinyls "I Touch Myself." isn't this coming from the same girl who bashed silverstein because of their cover art? :P This sounds pretty good; I'll have to check it out. The aka's are fucking terrible. |
