raised fist would kick your ass We'll put it as a math equasion, if X equals Good Band , Then The Transplants Do Not Equal X (: "he should write a diary, but not a review of a music album." "Second of all, thanks for ripping on Rancid for putting out a song that sounds like something theve done a long time ago. I mean, I would hate to be caught on something as stupid as not realizing that the very album you mentioned as their last good one was the album that this song is from. Its even on the same album as Maxwell Murder in caser you hadnt noticed." this review is one big piece of shit, i ll just take your comment of NFAA to describe it "NO TALENT AT ALL". OK, I ussually dont like to comment on how bad a review is but I have to right now. First of all read the first 3 paragraphs again.... yea, exactly. Second of all I would have rather read a review that actually talks about the songs instead of your past experience with the band. I love this song but I heard it a long time ago, I love this band, this band sounds like they are all tough and hard and stuff. Yea, great, so...Second of all, thanks for ripping on Rancid for putting out a song that sounds like something theve done a long time ago. I mean, I would hate to be caught on something as stupid as not realizing that the very album you mentioned as their last good one was the album that this song is from. Its even on the same album as Maxwell Murder in caser you hadnt noticed.Thirdly, you didnt even listen to the Tranplants remix (which actually is kind of interesting) and you just did the typical thing that everybody does when they come to a Transplants song... rip it a new asshole. I like the Transplants, its different, funny and a good side project for Tim and Travis to put together. Who cares if they are popular and if they rap a little bit, if you ask me its the kick in the ass that punk has needed for a while. And finally we come to my biggest problem. The Dropkick Murphys song which talks about how cool Boston is. First of all, Im sorry you have written off all of Boston after your experience at the Fleet. Im sure all you Michigan fans really put it to the BC fans after the game. And one incident sure does make a town suck because being very narrow minded and judgemental is cool. But thats besides the point because any school that gets in so much trouble that they can't even compete in a division 1 basketball game for the next 3 years and possibly longer must be way too cool for us Boston guys anyway.Yea, so I just thought Id point these flaws out. Im sure most people have already picked up on most of them so Im probably being redundant but hey.... at least it's not as bad as the review.-BostonMusicGuy (Oh yea, I like this comp) to the guy below who said that he'd never seen so many people with so little to do.....you have written the most out of anyone. Jesus... I've never seen so many people with so little to do. This review gave me all the info I needed in deciding to buy this comp, despite the ignorance on a couple subjects. Yes, the reviewer does review each song based on his own opinions; just like every reviewer before him. If you're mad he said (band X) sucks, then realize that there's probably thousands upon thousands of people who think that song sucks as well, no matter how much you like it. What I did was picked up on his musical taste (which was very different then mine apparently) and read his opinions from that view point. Since most people on this site are too closed minded to think like that, they probably just got confused/angry that someone called their favorite city/band lame. Admittedly, the typos in the beginning should have been fixed and the comment about As Wicked not being on AOCTW should have been easily fixed (since he's a "fan" of AOCTW), but a big fuck off to those who would waste their time researching european alcoholic beverages instead of just writing a damn review. It was to be expected that about seven trillion people would be pissed by any negative comment about any single band on a comp cd (especially a comp cd from the biggest label in punk), so eat a dick and die if ur pissed he said ur favorite band sucked. You know what, I think your favorite band sucks too. Dude, both "Shattered Faith" and "Who We Are" are both from the POB sessions. I new "Who We Are" existed when the album came out, it was a rumor circulating the web, but no one had the song because BR hadn't widely released it. They're working on a new album this fall I believe and at the Agoura show in May Greg told the crowd it would be the last show of the year, because they had to start writing and recording. I agree with the guy below, actually, I don't think you can really "review" anything with a "this sucks" or "I don't like this."....what you should do in a review, regardless of whether you like the music or not, is compare it to other music in that category.....if it's a hardcore record, and you don't like hardcore, then you probably won't like the record, but the record may very well be an excellent hardcore record. Get my drift? There is no point to reviewing a compilation CD. Listen and discover new bands for yourself. You can't go by what some guy says. It's cheap, so buy it. That was the most painful thing I've ever had to read. I'm rather disappointed that the punknews.org staff posted this review. Considering the diverse roster for this disc, I was really looking forward to a review of this but I can't be bothered to. I was under the impression that punknews.org is regularly swamped with new reviews. Surely, this can't have been one of the better reviews they received. That review sucked ass, someone review earlier punk o rama stuff Both Bad Religion songs are sweet. In case no one else has commented, As Wicked is from AOCTW I believe....I would think the reviewer would know that. Raised Fist is sick, and if Pennywise abandoned their label because of its distributors, then that would be stupid. Do or Die is a great record... all the others? Meh... Dude, I don't just think its just Boston that is shitty to out-o-town sports teams.....duh. Only the lyrics were written by woody. yeah, the dropkick song is also written by Woody Guthrie, not that this reviewer's dumb ass has ever heard of him. and it's PULLEY that did Ocean Song ... speak badly of them again and you'll pay. I'll have to agree with you on ONE thing......the Dropkick Murphys really do blow. Stupid patriotic "punks". (: Look what "501" said in a Ramones review: I had to give up after the millencolin review. i just couldn't take it anymore. this review sucked monkey balls. really like i wanted to hear bash all my fovorite bands and complain you already heard some of the songs. get your hearing checked and fuck you this guy is a fucktard, gunna be a blackout is about 1940s airraids, listen to the words for christs sake, and boston kicks your ass, im from ann arbor i have michigan hockey season tickets, and i am now ashamed of it becuase your such an asshole Say what you mean: You think our hardcore/post punk/emo scene blows. The real punk/ska scene here owns. I go to school in Orlando too, but I'll agree, our music scene blows. Randy and Pulley still kick ass. no girls allowed! that review sucked almost as much as the punk-o-rama series... "quit assuming how old people are! This is seriously becomming rather annoying." Retraction: Randy is fine in my book. (Rewatched Hang The VJ) I have this great idea, quit assuming how old people are! This is seriously becomming rather annoying. Kevin11=Orlando. hmmm..... yep. Orlando=Kevin11. Another thing, people below me are right about bowmore, get the lyrics jackass it makes sense "bowmore's running through my veins...they can never hurt me in that state" it's a song about drinking. As for the rest of Millencolin's songs not making sense, you need to realize that swedish doesn't translate into english very well and the only song I can think of that is absolute nonsense is Jellygoose. But hell, you are probably too young to even know that Life on A Plate exists. Randy does rock hard too, and it's not just because they are Swedish. randy kick ass. the dropkick murphys fucking own. raised fist are cool as shit. sage francis flows hard. you are pretty lame. I'd like to change two things. The Transplants are a huge disappointment, and 2, Randy is one of the better bands to come from Epitaph, ever. Rancid signing to W.B?? .. the Transplants?? I think Timmy Armstrong (or should i say T-Bone) has bought into his little fantasy world of money drugs and bitches. who the fuck are you anymore???????????? Yeah. This review has come off more like segments of the comments section. Randy "pretty much blows"? You completely blow and suck! Randy is the best band on this comp and the best band in the whole world, probably have been since You Can't Keep A Good Band Down! Gee long review. to the twelve year old who reviewed this: you are clearly retarded and unable to form coherent sentences, so please never post another review again. and do your fuckin grammar homework too for god sakes... Why is refused on here?... Good fucking question. I quess epiturd realizes that they were part of the 2. 3% of their roster that doesn’t totally eat shit. Just download ikara colt, i. N. C. , black keys and, of course, refused.... Cause’ this shit stinks. Matchbook sausagefest has to be the gayest fucking band ever..... Even by epiturd standards. Pretty badass artwork though..... Ill give em that.... But thats it. -cobra-verde yes, 'holiday in the sun' is a sex pistols song. no, pennywise is not covering it. is it just me or does the chorus of the bad religion track "shattered faith" sound like the chorus of offspring's "the kids aren't alright"? have a listen to the two What's with the Swedish comment? Sweden is a beautiful country and a lot of cool bands come from there, better than this shit hole known as "america". Yeah, I wouldn't even care that he made that mistake except for the fact that he tried to say he liked And Out Come The Wolves i'm sure someone already said it, but 'as wicked'although not one of its better songs, is off AOCTW u dumbass. next time dont review albums if u are to young to remember that album coming out. Haha, the more I read the more his review sucks...Bowmore is a type of alcohol, but I guess you wuldn't know that since you are probably 13. Oh yeah, Randy s probably the best band on this album...no one likes thyem because they are swedish, people like them because they actually fucking rock. Guess it's not catchy enought for you Epitaph freaks. I'm sorry, I got the Rancid song and you completely made yourself sound like a moron. As Wicked is off of ...And Out Come The Wolves, yet you appear to think the song is mediocre compared to that album. Please people, know what you are talking about before you submit a review. Especially when you claim like an album and then don't even know what songs are on it... I don't think this review was as bad as everybody says it is. There are some things, like his trying to act cool by mentioning Fugazi, and his not knowing As Wicked, but on the whole it wasn't bad. For instance, no matter how many times I listen to their album, Randy blows and people like them because they're swedish. Kev, oh yeah, one more thing about this review sucking, do research, bowmore is a type of alcohol from europe, AND the dropkick murphys song is a cover, and its not about boston, credibility is zero for you, except you pointed out that Matchbook Romance sucks ass, the only person that likes them is Jason Tate at AP.NET, probably because he jerks off to terrible pop music that review sucked, 2 the rancid song is from and out come the wolves you dumb shit, and bad religions songs are from POB's sessions, and the review, to be repetitive, like the review, SUCKS ' Im sure "Skinhead Rob" would like to think his "Rhymes" beat out "Repeater"...but no go Rob...sorry. ' Transplants suck. Stop liking them just because its Tim and Travis. They sucks you know it. Rancid is good. Blink... theyre getting better. But Transplants are horrible. The lyrics want to make me shit all over any store that sells this cd. And that bald rapping guy... he needs to just die. Hes kinda funny though, '' no one lives forever in fact we all die '' Really?!??! Most of this review was mediocre to bad. Many of the comments on the songs were basically, "I like this song/This song blows. I love this band/This band blows." The new Poison the Well is going to be insane. I hate to say it but that was quite possibly the worst review I have ever read.... I'm not even fucking kidding when I say that... it made FourtyMinutesWest's or whatever his name is reviews look incredible... Please, seriously, please never write a review again... Zak, U Of M is in Ann Arbour, Michigan State is in Lansing. what is it with people and trashing my former hometowns? first new hampshire, then boston, whats next? lemme just flat out tell you, lansing michigan sucks, and nothing you say can make it worse. is the pennywise song a sex pistols cover....? "By the way kids, i'm interviewing Against Me! tomorrow, want me to ask any questions?" Wow, that review made me realize how "intelligent" you truly are. You sir are an unbiased prick with about 7 midgets up your ass. Learn how to review. No one wants to hear about your experiences with how much you hate bands. Although I can agree that the Death By Stereo and Refused songs are good, you just spew utter shit with the rest of the songs. Amazing. Song by song, as it is put, I disagree with everything in this review with the possible exception of the Bad Religion songs, at least I think he respected how good they are. I'll agree with your score that this comp is not up to par to the previous POR comps (vol.5 and down). But come on, you don't like NFAA and Randy songs on here? well it's your damn lost. And yes Transplants do need to shut the fuck up. Kevin, you should be embarassed by your rancid comment. It is funny that matt freeman uses the same opening bassline on two songs on the same cd, but the fact that you thought it was new shows you're a dumbass, and apparently don't listen to whole cds. the reviwer is a moron. Jesus christ that was one of the worst reviews I've ever read. Holy shit dude, stop writing reviews. Please, don't do this again. I have all of Atmosphere's albums. Let's get this straight, since it looks like Atmosphere might stay around Epitaph for a while... kevin11 is a closet pennywise fan. I realize it's not a typical "punk" song, but the attitude and message of the Sage Francis are dead on. It may be the best treatment of 9-11 yet by any group - rap or punk yet. The Everlast comparison is embarassing. What a shitty review. What's with all those repeats at the beginning of it. Calling Randy and Raised Fist shitty, is really not fucking cool. Especially, Raised Fist. And he always makes reference to Fugazi. Just because you listen to Fugazi doesn't make you cool. So Kevin11 FUCK YOU, YOUR FUCKING CLOWN SHOES! Yeah, judging a band's attitude by the music is retarded.....Raised Fist will fuck your shit up. "Get this one right"- Raised Fist. These guys sound like the type of guys who are all tough and big...but are really just pussies who wont touch you. This song is OK." I'm sorry dude, but this review was just garbage. I feel that you were just a little to repetive in describing songs. There's more than a handful of mistakes that you could've corrected had you read it once or twice before submitting (does anyone proof read?). Just bad. Ask them how they feel to be one of punk's last hopes.... "oh..cool...because pennywise doesn't take enough shit on this site as it is." "But the Pennywise thing is just too easy! I'll have better insults when the new album comes out...just you wait. " Hey sickboi, thanks for the compliment, I enjoy your reviews as well. But the Pennywise thing is just too easy! I'll have better insults when the new album comes out...just you wait. I give the album a score o 7, but I give your review a negative 6....hence the score....most generic review I've read in a long time Don't get me wrong Kev, usually I enjoy your reviews, but come on....the whole "NAH BRAH", commonly associated with derogatory comments to Pennywise, is getting pretty fucking stale... Oh, also i think this is the biggest Hits:Comments ratio ever. 350 hits and too many comments to name. Oh and boys, buddyhead did not invent making fun of bands. Dammit, i wrote the opening after i wrote the song by song review, i was sort of tired. My bad. Next time, proofread you little bitch. I didn't care much for the review myself, at times I chuckled, at other times the reviewer seemed like a circus seal for Buddyhead. 1) As Wicked was on AOCTW. This review tried too hard to be funny and "kewl". "next time, proofread. the first two paragraphs (and probably more, but i havent even bothered to read the rest have repetative sentences. i dont think it is because you are a moron, but you didnt realize you already said the same thing." no talent at all- "Kevin11"? I thought No Fun At All was only liked by clueless teens, but I might be wrong. Normally, I wouldn't get involved with this sort of thing, 'cause I'm far too old to be debating with clueless teens about how much this or that sucks. Today, however, was not a good day, and this astonishingly ignorant comment : you do realize that As Wicked is an old song, dont' you? atmosphere IS the best rap has to offer, how and why did he sign to epitaph. weird.--emptycauses I think the Sage Francis track is actually my favorite song on here, not counting the ones I've already heard. The new Bad Religion song was kind of a letdown, it's still good, but not as good as I hoped. The new Pennywise song is just blah. No Fun At All were a kick ass band, and yes, State of Flow is an underrated album. "These guys should have cashed in after ...AOCTW. Not now." I agree on some of your opinions....I will say that, being a pennywise fan and pennywise being the band that started me on punk rock, "Holiday In Th Sun" is very generic and boring, it sounds as if it is a diret outtake from LOF due to it's similarity to another song. Hopefully the new album will rock. Pulley are a bit too poppy on record, but they put on an entertaining live show. Transplants.....nuff said, I don't know what is on Tim's mind lately....maybe he's running low on cash. the bad religion songs completely make this comp worth it. also, that sage francis song has really grown on me. the reviewer barely touching on it was right, the lyrics are awesome, but i don't think he sounds like everlast at all. Wow what a fucking half assed review. You suck man, please do literature a favor and never write again. Ever. How am I supposed to know whether or not to buy this cd by reading this crap? I don't care what you think about the bands, that doesn't tell us whether it's a good song or not. Yeah buddyhead fucking sucks and so does this review sounds like somebody was trying too hard to be buddyhead this score is for the review, This time the label decided to show how much money they have by making it 2 discs, and also affordable hahah Yeah, Punk-o-Rama's are always hit and miss in my opinion. next time, proofread. the first two paragraphs (and probably more, but i havent even bothered to read the rest have repetative sentences. i dont think it is because you are a moron, but you didnt realize you already said the same thing. "Lose Another Friend"- No Fun At All. If these guys changed their name to "No Talent At All" i'd dig them for their honesty. Let me make one thing clear, I HATE song by song reviews, however, i want every song to be represented. Thusly, here is my song by song review. |
