The album that put Christian pop-punk band Relient K on the map, The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek gives just what their fans want: spirited, uplifting pop songs with punchy guitars and sing-along anthems. But is that a good thing? Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Relient K - Mmhmm okay fine... this cd is f-ing awesome. but i wish that i was their only fan. a true blue 100% rk nerd geek. a true #1 because i am the most obsessed fan on the frigging universe! listen to each of their cds one a day (only the 4 main ones) and on weekends? twice each. i swear to f-ing god.i memorized all 5 parts of each song soo they are branded into my brain. u have no clue how obsessed i am. i owe my life to them... i swear. until i heard of them... i was ready to commit suicide. the changed changed my liufe. i swear. i o my life to rk. no one will ever know how much i thank them for what they did cuz they are so cool and they said all that matters too them is that they affect someone's life in some way and i am that person. thank you so much matt... i love you. :'-) This cd... id am not as obsessed with it as Mmhmm, but i really like itn like a ton. My fave on here is "Those Words Are Not Enough" and...DUH... SKITTLES AND COMBOS! I just bought this CD. LOVE IT! Relient K is an awesome band. They follow Jesus, but they do not stress it in every song. They have some fun songs like "Sadie Hawkin's Dance." First their Jesus lyrics make me laugh.. Then they meake me sick.. Fuck this bullshit band.. See ya in church! NOT! "once you hear getting into you you'll have a different view, i promise." You're definitely right about that! When I heard Two Lefts CD the first time I listened to it straight through and really didn't pay that much attention but then I couldn't stop playing Getting Into You over and over again. It's so pure and straight-up are you guys nuts? rK was formed around eh 97 when they released their first album, "all work and no play" long time before sum 41 and everyone else. then in 98 they switched to gotee records and released their first album with them, self-titled. then of the anatomy album came along, followed by two lefts in march of 2003...by the way, theyre the best. brian pittman (bassist) oohf hes sexy. once you hear getting into you you'll have a different view, i promise. at a first listen these guys can sound generic, but their lyrics are pretty clever. give them some credit. i personally think they are pretty decent at what they do. these guys suck dick and so do their fans and by the way. Sugarcult might be the most terrible band ever. "hey bible thumpers, get the fuck out of punk and go back to church." i like this album and the new one is good. if someone mentions simple plan again ill implode...the mere thought of that so called voice pierces my ear drums to the point i wanna shove a pencil in my brain to make it stop....but ya woohoo squeeky voiced christian punkers This band is good and all the comparisons to sum41 and simple Plan are around the wrong way, Reliant K have been around longer. I am a tool, eh? May I ask what I posted that qualifies me as a tool? hey bible thumpers, get the fuck out of punk and go back to church. if you've got two fucking sets of pictures of yourself on the front of your album, you know you suck. Yay! Just saw these guys on the cover of a Christian magazine. Hooray for God rock! Moreover, hooray for God punk-rock! hey Spaztic- "I might be wrong..but I think these guys have been around longer than simple plan." Bluetune - Ah, you're right, I was thinking of their S/T for some reason. spaztic the songs he mentioned are definetely on this cd, which to agree with most of the comments kinda sucks. the one halfway decent song on here rips off sum 41, which ain't exactly something to be proud of. No. You get scene points for bashing religion. It's the cool thing to do after all. I get uber-mega scene points for saying this band sucks, right? i bought their first cd on a pretty big whim a year and a half ago. what a bad whim. one of the songs had a good intro, but that was the highlight of the disc. i opened it before i noticed the words CHRISTIAN ALT. on the recepit. who-fuckin-ops. Sadie Hawkin's dance always ends up in my friends profiles around sadie hawkins time. I think I only enjoyed a couple songs on this cd. Definately not worth the money. I haven't heard the new one. Does any know if it's any better? damn this reviewer is worthless I got this CD a long time ago and wasn't too impressed either, though you have to admit some of it is catchy stuff. My only gripe is that the reviewer is a fucking idiot because all of the songs you mentioned that you enjoyed aren't on that CD, it's on the CD they released after this one. dude... sugarcult? gnarly. that shit is worse than britney. at least britney is hot. marko looks like a bitch, but he is a dude with ridiculous sideburns. I might be wrong..but I think these guys have been around longer than simple plan. Seriously, if I supported my local scene as much as possible there would be two more NFGs on TV are you happy. Rilo Kiley is more deserving of the initials RK. I try to support these guys, since they are from Ohio and all, but a lot of the songs on all their albums don't do it for me. Apparently, you must have 2 acoustic songs on every punk album. It's an unwritten rule or something. |
