| The Lawrence Arms / None More Black / Colossallive in Danbury, CT2003 live show Review by: sk8punx4evr See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on August 22nd 2003
You know those little packets of peanuts on airplanes? They’re way too small. And often too salty. You’d think a bigger packet would be offered. I wonder if people in business and first class get bigger packets. They probably do. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
I wanted to be at this show so much. i love seeing the lawrence arms because brendan is always so trashed but he still plays ok and when he talks to me he is like falling over. awesome. these dudes can drink like champions. they also rock the casbah. rock rock i saw brendan sing kevin costners casisno at the fireside about a year ago. i do have to admit it was amazing seeing him pull it off as he huffed and gasped and complained of smoking too much. but anyways, i dont like when people call them overrated. they obviously take themselves with a grain of salt (thats the larry arms for all you pissy kids) and are really some of the nicest guys you'll talk too if you get a chance to meet them. wow, 10 people into it? not bad, better than a year ago at pittsburgh w/ only 4 people into it. I FUCKING HATE HOW EVERYONE CALLS THEM "LARRY ARMS". I saw them in Detroit and they played "corpses of our motivation" as an encore. The crowd was not very into it, there were about 10 people actually getting into it and the rest of the crowd was just kinda standing there. I thought Colossal was bad, as was the first opening band No Means Yes, but I really liked None More Black and the crowd was very enthusiastic during their set. i only got to see the larry arms once at plea for peace, me and 4 other people knew who they were. the crowd was lame as shit, some kid said 'the crass is better than these guys'...sure kid...sure One Frequency was alot better than all the other bands combined. I love Jawbreaker, I reaaly liked the BroadwaysI like larry arms, anyways they're shows are always pretty inexpensive and worth the money nothing groundbreaking just a great pop band! you are saying that as if it where a bad thing. yeah, the Larry Arms do sound like Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, and Samiam combined. Has anyone ever noticed that the Lawrence arms sound exactly like Samiam. I just figured that out score for review. FUCKHOLES. "i have one song i write 100 times" The first eviction notice is one of my all time favorite songs. the disaster march and the revisionist are my two favorites off of the new one right now, but knowing the larry arms, i'll have two new favorites in a week or so... god damn, why can i not preorder now? The second new one was "A Wishful Puppeteer" i've never seen the lawrence arms play 'corpses of our motivations' or my favorites 'kevins costners casino' or 'someday we'll all weigh 400 lbs'. I was at this show. The first band did indeed play bad Blink 182 and Lit covers. Colossal was pretty amazing, but not my cup of chowduh. NMB rocked so hard. As for the Larry Arms, I couldn't say anything about them that isnt horribly biased. I was one of the 3 people moving at all tlo the lawrence arms, and one the maybe 8 singing along. I swear, when your dancing at a punk rock show, you shouldn't be getting funny looks from people standing next to you. I'm so pissed that I missed this show. |
