Do you think you are ready for The Faux? I sure was not prepared when I loaded their new self-titled debut CD into my stereo. This four-piece no-wave band is like nothing I have heard before. Hailing from Boston, The Faux creates their sound using only vocals, drums, bass, and synth. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
you know, i smoked crack with arab on radar. we made music, and it sounded nothing like this. writing shit like the locust is not as easy as it sounds, and playing it to perfection like they do live is fucking hard. if you don't believe me, try. This album is yawn-tastic. I saw this band and, well, it was painful. Half the venue cleard out. I thought Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine did it much better in the 80's. The Faux are not playing anything new and they aren't putting any kind of a twist on the music to make it unique. The only thing that makes it different is that it is not 3 chord, or any real chords for that matter, punk. You have to give the girl keyboarder some props though cause she plays the keyboard guitar. New Wave crap straight out of the early 80's that sounds like finger nails on a chalkboard. it sounded good until you mentioned the locust. | Features
