The New York based band A.K.A.’s (are everywhere) is the brainchild of former Brothers Keeper vocalist Mike Ski and is a 5 piece band. They are a new addition to the ever expanding Fueled By Ramen label, and this is their debut full-length, produced by Tim O'Heir (All American Rejects). Please login or register to post comments. i saw these when i went to see less than jake and at the time i thought they sucked ass and from what everyone was saying so did everyone else around us "Hey, check out this awesome interview with Mike Ski of The A.K.As at http://www.peta2.com/ot/o-akas.html Hey, check out this awesome interview with Mike Ski of The A.K.As at http://www.peta2.com/ot/o-akas.html THis record is amazing. It is a breath of fresh air compared to the majority of records that are out there. I'll have to check this album out if its as good as you say it is. I just posted a rather long interview with Mike Ski on pastepunk a couple of days ago. Even with the obvious International Noise Conspiracy influence, this disc still stands out quite distinctly on its own. Loads of energy, and crunchy, driving guitars. - Jordan Pastepunk re: The lead "singer" for Brother's Keeper used to sound like Alvin of Alvin of the Chipmunks. I'm not sure if that's hardcore or just seriously lame.... The AKA's are everywhere, that's for damn sure, they need to keep their street teamers off of message boards, especially some of the boards they hit, shit is whack. Such a refreshing change from all the cookie-cutter pop/punk that's coming out these days. I can still sing along, but don't feel like a pussy doing it. "Always On" is the jam. The lead "singer" for Brother's Keeper used to sound like Alvin of Alvin of the Chipmunks. I'm not sure if that's hardcore or just seriously lame.... I dig it, I didn't want to hear them at first because of the street team person, but oh well. I listened to the free mp3s and I hear alot of Faith No More... wow, 5 years ago there were 500 bands in Sweden who sounded better than this. I fell victim to the whole "fuck this band because of streety mcteamster" unfortunately and never gave them a chance until recently...neddless to say I heard them and was pretty blown away. I like this a lot, very refreshing stuff. So now I'll join in... Every song sounded the same to me, seriously. I pressed play, and all of the sudden it was on track number 4, yet I still thought it was the same song. | Features
