Don’t leave me, not like this I’ve longed for you since our first kiss Yes, that is an actual line from this album, and no it doesn’t get much better than that.

Scott handed me this cd along with a bunch others saying “Don’t worry dude, you’ll like all of these!” Cool I thought and left, of course I liked the TSOL and Vortis albums that were shrewdly placed on top of the pile, along with some others that I discovered amid the pile, but this, strategically placed near the bottom where I would only see it long after I left his house, no. I think this was a way to get out of writing anything bad about a Kung Fu band and therefore guarantee his collection of “Show Must Go Off” DVDs would continue to grow.

Antifreeze are a typical mall punk band that sounds like a lesser Ataris, which isn’t surprising since Kris Roe of said band worked with, and manages, them on this album. All of the songs seem to carry a common theme of relationships gone sour and the struggle to come around and forget the girl that has done them wrong. A theme that seems to be doing quite well with the younger generation out there and will probably land this band on MTV’s “You Hear It First” and will be toted as a punk breakthrough band. To end this on a positive note, I do have to say that the production is really well done and that some of the songs are rather catchy and had me tapping my foot in spite of myself. So if you like the current trend of pop punk go pick this up, I’m sure you’ll love it.

    My Score:

I once got their frist CD form their bassis after a Jimmy Eat world show here a few years back. It's actually not half bad. However distained as it may be i've given up on them as a band even if Kris Roe produced him.

KR has a strange fantasy with chicks and bananas

"if you had to choose between drumming for a perfect cirlce and antifreeze, what would YOU pick?"

i'd go with guns-n-roses. no but seriously, for some reason i thought josh was in this band (which i have never heard by the way). i don't like a perfect circle, and i don't like the vandals (i used to like 'em) but i do think josh freese is damn good drummer, so i didn't really think he would play in (apperently) such a stupid band. heh.

    My Score:

no, the name is in fact making fun of josh freeze. he beat the shit out of them with his big fucking drumsticks, and they started a band so they could whine about it. they had a secret crush on him, and he broke their hearts and limbs.
then, the ataris got them signed to kung fu, and josh freeze played drums with the vandals. when the label found out all their songs were about josh freeze, kung fu made them change their lyrics from "josh freeze" to "baby," "girl," etc.

if you had to choose between drumming for a perfect cirlce and antifreeze, what would YOU pick?

i was at the mxpx show in montreal last night and these guys were opening along with hidden in plain view. im sure the bassist for this band is gay as is the guitarist for hidden in plain view. they both sucked ass, except hidden in plain view sucked more ass. mxpx however rocked out, as usual. their new stuff sounds ok live, i was impressed.

This band is...alright. I agree it's not gonna drag anyone kicking and screaming back into liking pop-punk, but if you were already there, then it's not that bad.
