Chewbacalypse Now is an awesomely ambitious record that comes from the heart of an extremely imaginative three-headed beast that calls itself Confusatron. This little-known Portland, Maine-based band has taken an approach to instrumental rock that is deep, twisted, bizarre, topped with meaty hooks, great musicianship, and a healthy dose of self-interest in order to produce a genuinely refreshing and special record that hits hard from a distant world. This is not a thirty-second record that will reveal itself entirely at first listen, or even reveal itself at all, for until you see the whole you can’t hear the pieces, and it’s the pieces that move this record from metal to country to jazz seamlessly and splendidly. I haven't listened to the album yet, but I saw these fuckers play live tonight. If you live in or anywhere near Portland, Maine, you will do yourself a grave disservice to miss their muse in the flesh. I just got this album today, and i must say...IT'S GENIUS, GENIUS I SAY!! -SaYnE GuY good review, now where's that credit card i don't have? payday is the day of confusatron purchasing. i love friday. Well damn.... looks like we're sold out at Interpunk. You can buy it direct from me here: Hahaha, wow. never heard them but the name and cover art is fucking great. Ill buy this cd for that alone. If it sucks well hey at least I can just put the booklet on my wall, either that or wipe my ass with it Im fine with both. Oh, the band's website is www.pageofterror.com, sorry about any confusion. Yeah, Transformers cover art is pretty original. For all those who seem to be showing interest in this CD, you can get it at Interpunk. Confusatron, for this cover art I salute u! Transformers own all! That title and cover fucking rule. This score is for the cover, it fucking rules. This may be the first album I buy based on the packaging and title alone! Jay stole the words out of my mouth I didn't even read that review but I'll be looking for this CD for the name alone. THe only way it could have been funnier is if it was Chewbacca Lips Now. um.... yeah, the bands website is www.pageofterror.com Best CD concept ever. The album art kicks my ass. |
