[Anecdote about what a madcap time I had trying to get to the show]. Was that ever a madcap time! When we arrived These Arms Are Snakes were already playing, and we managed to catch two of their songs. Those two, however, were aural gems. The band was getting pretty into the songs, as well. I would have liked to see their whole set, but I couldn’t have due to the madcappery I endured. If you go to this show, make sure to catch their entire set. You might even get to see TAAS’ lead singer deepthroat a mic! Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
after the fact, but a static lullaby is one of the worst bands i have ever seen. i have never heard them on cd, but imagine they are generic emo crap. but live, oh wow, that was bad, bad stuff. I just read the reviews and I was astonished at how much people dislike(may I say HATE?) A Static Lullaby. Well, I'll say it......... I LIKE A STATIC LULLABY. Whatever their labeled, pop-punk, screamo,(genre's are useless anyways) they're good. If their "hiding the true hardcore," and you're being bitching about that, you're way too ignorant. Anyone who's saying their banality is the reason not like them, all I can say is, "come to reality, EVERYTHING's been done already." "While a lot of shit is being said about A Static Lullaby, I have to disagree as being someone who just saw their show in Saskatoon with Strung Out. This band's energy is awesome, the crowd was totally in to it! Punk rock is not about quality of sound, it's the energy, attitude, and creativeness." Yes it was. Oh I didn't miss the joke. It was simply not even in the ballpark of funny. "Madcappery isn't even a real word; hence, it would not fall under the category of 'big'." This score is for Canaduh and the stupid Canduhian who likes Ass Static Lullaby. While a lot of shit is being said about A Static Lullaby, I have to disagree as being someone who just saw their show in Saskatoon with Strung Out. This band's energy is awesome, the crowd was totally in to it! Punk rock is not about quality of sound, it's the energy, attitude, and creativeness. Madcappery isn't even a real word; hence, it would not fall under the category of "big". "And speaking of poor command of the english language, reading this review gave me a fucking headache. I understand that you are trying to use "big" words and come across as eloquent but you are failing miserably. But keep plugging away as eventually (hopefully) you will improve." bwahahahaha! i don't know who said that about the liberty spikes kids, but you're right. hey, at least us "posers" in our regular t-shirts and sneakers get down to the music or slam in the pit. those guys don't have time i guess. they have to look pretty. "i dispise anyone of you that likes this band [A Static Lullaby] and i pity you for being tricked into liking this garbage." on an unrelated note: did you ever notice how the kids with the liberty spikes and studs and doc martins sit in the back of the show holding their girlfriend's hands? i have every right to bully CT. goddamn right. And stop picking on CT! These are awesome bands and I would have loved to be at this show. However, I have just gotten back form a live show that puts this and all other live shows on earth to shame. The band... i saw hwm a last week at rutgers and they covered true believes. the next day the souls played in asbury park and the guys in hwm came out and played true believes with the souls. then the souls played a hwm song with hwm. it was a fucking sweet 2 days a static lullaby fucking sucks. i dispise anyone of you that likes this band and i pity you for being tricked into liking this garbage. their lyrics make me laugh for days. its sad a band like this gets noticed while other bands with much more talant fade away not ever being noticed. Poison the Well makes this band their bitch. This scores for how bad A static lullaby sucks at giving head and the new Catch cd. larry arms are awesome but damn, they gotta ditch ASL and quick. last year those shitfaces managed to ruin my night despite LA and d4 putting on a great show Poison the Well is brilliant, they can thank Seaweed for the melodic parts that lead up to those thunderous howls. Don't get me wrong, I like Poison the Well (alot), it just irks me that everytime I look up, there is some fucking black nailpolish/eyeliner wearing band that sounds just all the rest. If you've read my posts in the past you'll know that I have a huge whole in my heart for the Lawrence Arms. To see a band like Static Lulluby playing after them, when it is so blatantly obvious who is better, just plain bothers me. I realize that this is hardly the sole reasoning behind band line ups. If I'm not mistaken the Lawrence Arms have four full lenghts behind them? Why the fuck is My Arms are Snakenly Lullabied playing after them. Gross just fucking gross i'm going to this tour. i've seen hwm 523453489059 times and they never get old. lawrences arms and these arms are snakes should be good too. ASL is an afront to the world of hardcore. at krazy fest, no one was dancing and they were like "you guys arent very krazy!" and i wanted to scream "NO ONE IS GOING CRAZY BECAUSE YOU SUCK!!!" they were a pop-punk band before they found out the whole singing/fake-hardcore thing was going to blow up. "ASL is never placed in a lineup where they should be." Everyone already knows I like ASL but I have to agree that the encore thing / band order was just plain fuckin' dumb. ASL is never placed in a lineup where they should be. To the guy who compared A Static Lullaby to the other "screaming" bands, are you on crack? To compare A Static Lullaby to Poison The Well is just hilarious. PTW > ASL. "This is the second time I have seen the Lawrence Arms at the Knitting Factory and although they put on a great show, the crowd never seems to really dig them. Perhaps people are standing in silent appreciation." I saw the Larry Arms in New Jersey in August, before T.G.S.E.T. was released...not only did they play from it, they asked us what we wanted to hear. Granted, it was a tiny show (only 40 people or so), but they go all out no matter the crowd size. I even got to meet them after...they're fucking amazing (albeit drunk) guys. thanks for all the positive feedback! you're all like a lifeforce that makes the noose seem not as tight. ;)! or even poison the well, for that matter -- they've been around for a number of years and still have integrity. I know you're not comparing ETID to A Statit Lullaby... Honestly that Fucking Static Lulluby band is a blip on the radar, soon to be forgotten. Lets save everyones ears and time and pick one band out of that "genre" of Lulluby/snakes/ashes/wells/everytime someone dies/ that will be around in 3 years when the Lawrence Arms and HWM and are still out touring their nuts off. Sk8punx4ever is my new favorite reviewer. I don't know if I had a previous favorite, but that doesn't really matter. "A Static Lullaby is a great band, and I was disappointed to see the singer throw his back out in Richmond last night." Does HWM ever play Frieghtliner. I love that damn song Whatever happened to the Larry arms that ripped into the Starting line and that whole drive thru tour? I wanna read Brendan rip a new asshole for Static Lulluby! Ha Ha, anyways yes of course the arms' rule. Fucking makes me jealous you spoiled Americans get to see them all the time. keep the larry arms' reviews coming, i only found about this band about a year ago, and they're amazing "A Static Lullaby is a great band, and I was disappointed to see the singer throw his back out in Richmond last night. Despite this, they continued to play, albeit for not very long. ASL is an impressive band for those who keep an open mind." "A Static Lullaby is a great band, and I was disappointed to see the singer throw his back out in Richmond last night. Despite this, they continued to play, albeit for not very long. ASL is an impressive band for those who keep an open mind." i forgot, fucking matt pinfield was there. i saw him walk out. that made the night just that much better. A Static Lullaby is a great band, and I was disappointed to see the singer throw his back out in Richmond last night. Despite this, they continued to play, albeit for not very long. ASL is an impressive band for those who keep an open mind. these larry arms are snakes... mwahaha. This is the second time I have seen the Lawrence Arms at the Knitting Factory and although they put on a great show, the crowd never seems to really dig them. Perhaps people are standing in silent appreciation. to correct the person who said the lawrence arms have 3 full lengths. they have 4. a guided tour of chicago on asian man records. ghost stories on asian man records. apathy and exhaustion on fat wreck chords. the greatest story ever told on fat wreck chords. also 2 split eps on asian man records. one with the chinkees the other with shady view terrace. Yeah at BB Kings NYC I think Lawrence Arms ended with Nebraska too... I was gonna do a review for this show in Richmond last night but I think you pretty much summed up everything I had to say. i was at that show. it was truly spectacular. I love this guy's reviews. Write more, please! yeah that show was a blast. again i felt confused that a static lullaby had to do an encore. i was yelling out "SHUT THE FUCK UP". i don't care if you were the biggest pop of the night, if you delayed HWM i'm gonna get pissed. i initially came to see larry arms and HWM so they both get 10s. whoa, first. if hot water music doesn't play alachua when they play here, i'll be jealous. |
