This show was set up as a warm up gig for their European Tour, and wow did it turn out to be a great show. Subzero, Vision, and a few other bands opened up for them... but I am going to cut to the chase with SOIA's set.

Going back a few months ago, the band announced on their site that they were cutting some of the older material out of their live set, because they have too many albums and need to play a few from each one.

SOIA's set turned out to be unbelievable, as they played a ton of old songs, some of which I haven't heard in over 5 years. They opened up with Clobberin Time which is the first sign of a great show. The pit was intense as always, and it was nice to see SOIA on stage at the legendary CBGB's.

They played a few songs of their new album, "Life on The Ropes". They played about 4 or 5 songs off the album, including "Paper Tiger", "Relentless", "All My Blessings", and "Silence".

It was pretty shocking that they practically ignored both "Yours Truly" and "Call to Arms", only playing one song off each.

The majority of the set consisted of songs off of "Just Look Around" and "Blood, Sweat, No Tears". They played some SOIA classics, such as "Pushed Too Far", "GI Joe Headstomp", "Just Look Around", "Alone", "Injustice System", "Shut Me Out", and "Locomotive".

They closed the set with "Stepdown" and then "Straight Ahead". An awesome way to end a truly awesome show. Listed below are all the songs they played to the best of my memory.

    Sick of it all!!!!
saw em in dc for like the 10th time and they kicked ass!

and then you took some roofies and nailed a girl but she didn't really want you to. Let me guess, you wish that you were the girl that was nailed down, right? Oh yeah, madball, soia and agnostic front on the same bill on a school night means a big "no no" for you, since your mom finally let you die your hair just like travis barker (your idol)had in his last video. And you were to pussy shit to go to a real hardcore show since you can be more intimate at your coffee house acoustic shows smoking ciggs........ And sipping cock.

btw, that bigwig comment -did- make sense, you were just reading it wrong. but just because it makes sense doesn't make it true. sick of it all accomplished a lot of things, and they're probably one of the most well known hardcore punk bands of all time. so stfu.

this score is for the bigwig post... that band is putrid and you suck. next time stick to talking about drive thru bands and maybe everyone won't clown you and your shit won't be ruined. oh by the way, your little sister called, and she wants her knowledge of punk rock back. bitch.

To the dumbass with the BigWig comment. What a joke. BigWig is a shitty punk band from NJ that screws up important cover songs when they play them. I saw them try to cover Gorilla Biscuits one year and they botched it. Horrible band.

By the way, solid set list on this SOIA show.

For the Anonymous post 2 down ... what the fuck are you talking about
For someone to say that about SOIA obviously shows you don't know jack shit about the band
So take your stupid uneducated comments back to the 8th grade and listen to some Simple Plan

i saw 'em on that wsou boat show around manhattan a couple months back. they played a shitload off the new album that night. but new or old, soia is fucking nyhc at it's best. i haven't danced at a show in a while, but when they kicked into scratch the surface i almost lost my fucking shit.

Do SOIA ever play 'Laughingstock'? It's not in the live album on Fat, and they didn't play it at this show either. This song fuckin' rules.. I hope they play it when they play London. Oh, and playing loads of songs off the new one is never a bad thing.. tons of mosh-fare on there.

    My Score:

SOIA is fucking great, but should I have attended that show, I would have been VERY disappointed with the set.
I'm all for bands doing old shit, but that's just way too much, and in my opinion, the first two albums are their worst. Great albums... but the worst. I would've felt ripped off from that set.
No "Disco Sucks", "Nice", "No Cure", "America", "Call To Arms", "Closer", "Blown Away"???
    Fuck it.
    Still love 'em though.
